Star Citizen has become the poster child for how to not run a project. It’s like watching someone do a brainmap - and instead of choosing the 3 most important aspects to keep the project moving forward - they try to do everything, because people are obviously not allowed to question wether to spend 4 months developing «pee physics in space» or finishing up dialogue and quests would be a better thing to focus on
Oh yeah they've should have followed the way of  Wildstar, ArcheAge, Anthem, Gollum, Chronicles of Elrya and so on  :D

I think seamless flight from space to planet is one of the least important aspects of good space game. At the end of the day it's just a transition. It needs to work so that I can switch from space-flight to interacting with the planet, but like all transitions, it doesn't need to be pretty it just needs to be over fast enough.

I mean all that's know of SF show that the space aspect of the game is rather secondary to the planets, you be in space, open a map, click to load into planet, open a map, click to jump to new system, there is a rather limited scope there.

It's also a game that's  obviously not goint to be appealing because of its space sim aspects, this is not the type of game you will play with your HOTAS setups and such; it's always good to remember a game having space does not make put it on the lines of a space sim. Same story goes for NMS & others.
So Star Citizen is more like Flight Simulator on steroids.

More like a all-things simulator of sorts, as sim aspects are put throughout the entire game, the flight, dogfight and ships are just where the biggest investment is obviously. It's made to appeal to the sim crowd.

People were talking here on the context of SF about the lack of seamless transitions being irrelevant but they forget for SF that also means no atmospheric flight as far known, which means you pick a place to land on the map and get a loading screen landing there, so you wouldn't be able to freely take off and explore the planet flying, that's exactly what I mean by the visibly limited scope on its space flight/dogfight-specific aspects, this is not going to be played for that experience.

Yes SC is much more simmy like the way elite dangerous is but even more so.

However starfield will not be just a simple open a map choose a destination and click, while you will do that you still have to go out of the map into ship mode and start your jump engine or at least that what I understood from the very few videos I watched about it.

While this is pretty basic simmy stuff you will also have space combat so space wont be like say in mass effect where there no ship to ship combat really.

I feel it will be like elite dangerous but lots better due to no legs in elite and planet exploration being kinda meh or a more toned down arcadey SC perhaps where you have fps type gameplay on planets etc but also have space combat but lots less simmy with added base building kind of like in NMS.

I am hoping for a mass effect ish type good single player campaign with  good fps combat AND some decent space dogfights with some decent base building options thrown in, my biggest issues is deciding if I really wanna pay 100+ for the game or choose not to...lol

You can't play what isn't yet available, so it will be Starfield or neither. For me it will be neither.

If you have to ask clearly you are not Star Citizen material.

No signs SC is adding to VR, making a board game, changing to "painting" graphics, becoming a MOBA, BR, trying out a Voxel version? If none of the above then fingers crossed and you are good to go!
