It's the Season of Blood in Diablo 4, and Blizzard is using the vampiric themed season to do some good. They're running a monthlong campaign to encourage real-life blood donation. In-game cosmetics will unlock for all if the community hits certain donation goals, including the 666 quart big goal.

For a moment I thought Blizzard had upstaged Richard Garriot, instead of selling his blood to the players, Blizzard was going to have players selling their blood to the studio!

But alas it is not so: "You do not have to actually have donated blood to enter the sweepstakes or receive the rewards"

Would have been so, so much better if players had. ;)

1 pc? why not 1000 to you know... get attention, also if they went
directly to news outlets and invested money into conscious awareness for the public, i am 10000X positive they would of done way more good by going in that direction.

It's a good cause and i encourage everyone to go donate but they could of done MUCH MORE.

Can't make anyone happy, seems like. They are trying, it's clear, and season 2 is doing very well.

    Haters gonna hate, I suppose.

My man, i don't even play the game, i am just saying a 2-3k pc for a 74.x bil company is pretty laughable... i mean cmon.. do 10 at least! Pretty sure bobby tips his jet pilots and yacht boys more then that...

People do seem to be going out of their way to find fault.

They could have done more. Then again they could have done nothing. I doubt those that collect the blood donated due to this will thank Blizzard and then lament... but you could have done so much more.

Instead they will be grateful for what Blizzard opted to do when they need not do anything and gracious when expressing their appreciation.

I have alien blood and can donate to any blood type but none can donate to me except another with the same alien blood. A strange guy in an expensive suit and fancy car comes to my house once a month and gives me 1k for half a unit. I don't know why. I don't ask any questions. Happy to take the money.

Interesting. I actually need to go donate. It's been too long and coincidentally I fired up D4 last night to check out the new season and I'm enjoying it. I didn't pay for the upgraded battle pass. Just doing the free one for now. Anyway I rolled a rogue and it feels way more powerful than at launch. Leveling seems much faster too. I hit like level 24 in my first evening of playing and trust me that was FAR from anything anyone would describe as hardcore. I think I played for 2-3 hours total? Anyway WAY faster leveling than launch. New event has its own quest line fully voice acting and animated. New season mechanics clearly were thought out and designed. I honestly don't really understand how it all works yet, but nothing really opens up in this game until you hit 50 anyway. Probably take me a couple of days to hit that. Remains to be seen if the game has any legs after world teir 3. That's when it all sputtered out before. However I already have the game so why not? Might as well get some more mileage out of it. Oh and there's plenty of people playing. Rumors that the game is dead seem pretty premature.

I think the issue is when a company is seen as toxic to the degree people have their opinions about blizzard (whether founded or not), small bits of good will come off as little more than pandering and posturing.

If [insert evil person here] donates bread to a food bank, you don’t suddenly like them.
