Did the organisers screw up or is this a more serious problem?
Reddit thread was quite busy with speculation and conspiracy theories. The thread seems to have garnered 1.3k upvotes which is more than the number of people that turned up for the event. I myself was disappointed in the game and am hoping to see improvements and I hope this lights a fire under their butt to do something.
Aren't Koreans gaga over anything Diablo?

I think we can say calling the game unpopular is a bit premature or uninformed. Wouldn't surprise me if WoW had fewer players.
DIV could be regionally unpopular in a market where Lost Ark is especially well received.
Domestically, reception has been mixed which is essentially a failure as the game should have been such that it was widely seen as spectacular.
Instead some see it as good, some bad, and a fair number essentially reacted with meh. Hopefully they will bolster that or they may be in trouble before long when some of the new ARPGs announced arrive.
I should point out I think they will turn D4 around, just not sure how much, slapping on some content will take time but they will do it. Not sure about the grind issues, that would take a change to gameplay which goes to the core of the game.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
What MMO aspects does D4 even have beyond the gathering of resources? Nothing integral to play, that's for sure. They didn't go far enough if their goal was to further transition to an eventual Diablo MMOARPG.
Things that are bolstered are supported or enhanced, not made harder, so I'm not sure what you are referencing.
PoE already has PoE in abundance and those that want that will stay there. Diablo needs to offer other than in abundance so that it will be a strong alternative for those that don't seek what PoE provides.
not sure why the hate
fun game and I enjoy it
It sounds then that you don't like the process by which it must be done in DIV, not that you are actually prevented.
