Rather mixed thoughts on this one, but I won't be even thinking about getting it till next year so plenty of time to iron out the kinks.

First ever RTS in Warhammer universe? Pretty sure Dawn of War would like a word with you on that.

Neither nor, it's basically the same type of RTS as Dawn of War and Company of Heroes

I'm pretty sure by that they meant the first Warhammer 'Fantasy' RTS, which still wouldn't be true as there was Warhammer: Dark Omen for example.

Dawn of War.  I loved that game.

I played it and forgot it came first! So many games under my belt I try not to think how many. :)

Dawn of War was something more manageable to me because you control smaller units compared to those where you control a small army. I suck at the ones which control a larger area and battles. This could really be a game I enjoy as I actually finished Dawn of War.

That is why I cannot get into these Total War games.  I tried Total War: Warhammer 3 and it's just not my cup of tea.

First ever RTS set in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar universe. That's what it's meant to say.

As for Fantasy: Shadow, dOmen and Mark are ... what exactly? Even Total Warhammer's battles are technically RTS. Especially evident in TWH 3 with Siege changes.

And about Realms ... it's a fine game, but severely overpriced. RoR has a very good art direction, imo.

Can't say im interested, Age of Sigmar just does get my mind turning at all.

However, a new fantasy RTS is always something to research, so I'll take a closer look. It'll really just depend on what sort of RTS it is.

I really liked Dawn of War 2, closely controlling 4 units worked really well on a tactical front. I also love Total Warhammer 1-3, the large scale fights were awesome!

But, I really struggle with RTS's like Company of Heroes, DoW3 or Starcraft. These are RTS's where the tactics, the building and long term strategy don't really matter, they're more about how quickly you can click buttons to produce units to send in a horde at the enemy.
