I do not know much about IT but it seems they got a lot accomplished really quickly. I commend them.

There have been a couple of patches since the new early access (without Gamigo).
    The developers seem quite active.

In my opinion 1 - 2 days rollback is acceptable for a studio and project this size. I still think they need to prove they can improve and maintain better security going forward, because this never should have happened, but stuff happens and they deserve credit for the response and recovery.

A bigger tragedy would be for them to have lost their players personal data which hopefully didn't happen.

Here's an uncomfortable reality, every firm or person is at risk of hacks / ransomware, not if but when.

What matters is how quickly it is detected, damage is mitigated, and customers made whole again.

Having played MMOs for a few decades and seen a great many such things, I feel this was handled very well. The game is doing several things which no other game is doing right now, I'm very happy to support it and am definitely enjoying things so far.

    Same.
I've spent more time in this game than I have any other in two years.
It is really scratching the UO itch for me.

I'm gonna give it a go. It seems to have positive momentum and it seems they are getting good reviews on their response to the asshat. I choose to throw some coin their way

If a game is fun for a few months and then you get bored, how is that a bad thing?  You're allowed to play more than one game in your life.

29 bucks for a few months of fun.  Sounds like a bargain to me.

Lol... Most games keep peoples attention less than a week these days... If I can get even 1 month out of a game then they are doing something far better than 90% of these other games.

If an MMORPG keeps me engaged for a year or more, then it's doing something right, a couple months, it was a good run, but I probably won't be back. If I don't even make it a month, than it sucks. Less then a week, trash.... Example is Bless I think I lasted maybe 1 day before I was like nope. It's all subjective of course but It's my own value (effort/money) standard. I understand not everyone's is the same.

I've been playing Uncharted Waters Origin for more than eight months now.  That's easily the longest I've stayed with one game since Kerbal Space Program.  Before that, you'd have to go back to Guild Wars 2 or Uncharted Waters Online.

And yet people on this site are dismissive and don't want to try the game.  I could even get you into a top 3 guild on the PVE server the day you join the game.

    Does Uncharted Waters have zombies?

    ;)

Yes, if you count all the afk stalls as zombies

Nope this was the last nail for me. They don't actually want to hear about issues....many people have tried to have conversations with them and other community members. They don't want to hear it....they just want an echo chamber. Everytime I see someone post something other than "it's great leave it" they get shouted down by the few loud tryhards. This game will be dead in 6 months or less unless they start listening to why people leave and not the ones that will stay to the end. I am having Darkfall 1.0 flashbacks and it's not in a good way.
