Yeah i'm kinda feeling that too in a way, not a lot of mmorpg's came out this year, and the ones that did... well, they aren't exactly game of the year material.
Best on-going MMORPG of the year is a much easier category to stomach, because we still have a really large pool of mmo's from years past still in service, a good chunk doing pretty darn well, like ESO, WoW, FFXIV, FFXI, Everquest 1 and 2, D&D online, LoTRo, etc.
