Sean Murray of Hello Games took to the stage at The Game Awards 2023 to unveil Hello Games' newest project, a multiplayer fantasy open-world game titled Light No Fire.

    I didn't see a release window. Did I miss it?

    If not, wake me in a few years. Looks good but not doing the perpetual tease thing any more.

    No window, and I'm curious as to how Murray will reign himself in with the hype train this time.

    I feel like this one's going to be really good because even if it's trash Hello Games doesn't cut and run. They may be one of the few devs I have faith in to fix something completely broken.

    I'm looking forward to this. I have thousands of hours in NMS and completed all achievements on Steam and Xbox. I'm a massive fan of this studio. I can see their style in preview and how they've taken feedback from NMS to make a better world.

    First post I deleted thought I clicked on a different article. 100% going to play this. Creators of No Man Sky makes a 2nd game they have been working on quietly for 5 years. So intrested.

    They went form a desaster of a studio to total redemption. Watching the story of how Sony pushed them in a direction they didn't want to go. To what they became was a heart breaking story.

    Looks like a fantasy version of No Mans Sky. It looks cool, and Hello Games has redeemed themselves in such spectacular fashion, that I’m seriously interested in this.

    Looking forward to this game. I still recall the internet flooded with Sean's multiplayer and other statements. But what a comeback.

    I don't get hyped with games that have a window. So I'm definitely not gonna get hyped for this. However, I'll keep a sleepy eye open to see what comes of it, whenever it does start to come.

    It's an amazing game for real. Feels like it just came out of nowhere. I hear it's going to be mobile cross play though. Really hard to believe with how good it is.

    I wouldnt buy into what the net is speculating as there is almost no info beyond the trailer.

    The fact that the trailer has 3.1 mil views ( as we speak ), in 24h.. is mind-blowing.

    I think is the most watched trailer from The Game Awards right?

    Anyway..I hope its an MMO !! It has to be!! It has all the settings to be one..

    The speculation on the release date is wild. Some people speculate as early as March - April by associating fire with Aries and Astrology. A lot of people speculate fall of 2024 and into early 2025.

    Some things to consider. Hello likes to do big drops for NMS in the fall. They also typically don't show any preview or teaser footage until they're ready to release an update now. Sean loves to play games with emojis on Xitter anywhere from a few days to around 2 weeks before a drop.

    So, the person making an association with fire and astrology isn't totally whacked. I think 2025 is way too far out. Fall 2024 is more likely the far out target, but an earlier, out of cycle (for them), launch wouldn't surprise me either.

    It has all the settings, looks and fighting style from the trailer, but it says up to 3 players Multiplayer, and it’s procedural rendering so I doubt it’s a tru MMO. To me it’s like this. If you’re going to make a world as big as our earth, seems like it’s begging to me massively multiplayer.

    But no one makes any MMORPG’s that big because normally a server can only hold a few thousand people at a time. Maybe one day when we all have 8g fiber optics to the home and we maybe get quantum computing servers, this will become a reality but we can think of a game this big as a step forward on making worlds that big. Instead of founding a guild. Maybe you can found a nation instead.

    Matrix is getting closer and closer. Maybe if you trust Elon Musk and those types to implant neurolink type technology. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be joining in. Science has already extracted a song from someone’s brain and played it back. Which is creepy enough, so probably not far from nearly mind reading.

    To me, No Man's Sky is one of the greatest games of all time.
    This immediately when to the top of my must have lists.

    The mess Hello Games was in, was they entered to a contract with Sony, that held this new studio under pressure to release and forced Hello Games to a false narrative. There is a documentary on YouTube about it. It's about 45 long. It's a good watch. Hello Games has won a reputation despite this. With doing everything in their power to deleiver they game they promised and more.

    Hopefully you get the jist of what I'm saying. I don't want to have multiple games and I'm really liking my game right now lmao.
