and it's a pretty smart approach to keep content going if you ask me.

Your evaluation of anything Star Citizen or RSI is comedic AT BEST!
It's comedic for the game to release new star systems after launch? Imagine an MMO releasing new areas through the years, hmm

No, it is comedic that you think it is "smart" when the reality is that it is COMMON. You demonstrate that you have no analytical abilities. You simply repeat nonsense.

They had no idea how they were going to do things.  They just kept throwing stuff against the wall to encourage more 'donations'.  Roberts and scope dithering.  Yep.  Agree that persistence, no wipes, is when the thing gets real.  At whatever diminuitive state it's in then.  How many years that will take is anyone's guess.
As far the solar systems went, it was rather obvious how it was gonna be, the landing locations aka social module were maps with on-rails loading into, like the initial Arccorp, and the game played in space, the planets and moons would be textures in the sky, so development requirements of the work it'd take for solar systems vastly different once it moved to fully realize everything in the game-world.

So that's going to take its time, and it's really no biggie if the game hits stable and systems keep rolling out on updates over time, works very well, to me it's really all about the game hitting a stable version more so than ever would be about having to realize the entire scope by stable.

Smart in the context that it's the common MMO approach to post-launch content. English is not my main language so I'd appreciate if you don't nitpick like that.

    They said it was DEAD
    [....]
But we are doing it AGAIN!
I dont expect this company to ever do a campaign like this again because everyone and their cat would know they have the money and boy dont they have it to kickstart new projects on their own, very comfortably.

I would start a crowd funding campaign to help pay for my funeral expenses, I’m pretty sure I will be retired and then dead before this ever releases.

You could buy it in the hope that by the time your grandchildren are old enough, it will be released in a decently playable state  ;)

This used to be a joke and a meme but at this point it's just reality that people will die before this releases and have grandkids before it releases. IF it ever does. I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if this still wasn't released 10 years from now.

But, but, wasn't it like back in 2018 or something Chris promised SC wouldn't take another 10 years to release?  :#

Surely he wasn't lying to us, was he? I mean...

The orbital impotence ray generators are already in place, judging by the surge of ED type products on the market.  And I had blamed the Russians.

It most likely wont ever release...it is profitable as it is right now.....Once a game releases it comes under high scrutiny, and this game would get ripped to shreds then......By saying "its in alpha" they can get away with just about anything and have.

LMAO people still thinking this is ever going to release.

Be thankful there are enough idiots who continue to throw enough money at this thing to keep the lights on. If it wasnt for that this thing would have folded years ago.

Youll be able to play the tech deom they have with a few things added here and there until people smarten up.

    Enjoy it while you can.

I really just am hoping they'll launch SQ42 in my lifetime as I was looking forward to playing a modern version of Wing Commander.

The larger SC universe isn't of much interest to me yet, maybe after SQ42 I'll feel differently.

Its already been THREE years since the infamous 'no for real we really are making it and its close to release' speech concerning SQ 42. Its already been FOUR years since those billionaires gave them 46 or 47 million for 'marketing'.

That just the first 'episode' or whatever its been rebranded as. (there are supposed to be three episodes).

I remember when people were comparing SQ 42 to Cyberpunk (in terms of release dates and development time). Problem is SQ 42 supposedly been in development since 2011.(2010 actually) Cyberpunk only ANNOUNCED in 2012.

Either way SQ 42 isnt ever going to release either.

As long as Roberts is in charge nothing will ever be released.

If any of us who have children saw that happen before the children leave for college, I believe we'll be lucky to see the game released (assuming some of us had kids while they were still single digits when this game started production). The development will enter its twelfth year this year. The development process takes a long time, even if you give them an extra two to three years because of COVID.
