Idk if it could dethrone Guild Wars 1 as my favorite game of all time. Because here's the thing ... Guild Wars did for combat what BG3 does for everything else - extreme player agency. And it did so with an elegance and convenience of game design that perfectly encouraged experimentation. But BG3 is definitely recapturing most of that magic, and it's doing so in another genre I also really love - turn-based tactics RPG. I reckon by the time I roll credits, BG3 will probably cement itself as a very close number 2.
