Private servers are nothing new in MMORPGs, and while Lineage II might have official Classic servers, the majority of players are found on the thriving private classic servers, keeping the aged MMO alive.

A classic Lineage 1, the Blood Pledge server would be of interest, L2 was crap IMO from day 1.
I mean, it didn't even have blessed teleport scrolls, (btels) and a host of other changes I didn't care for from the original.

No one will lvl a bishop on a server like that outside being carried all the time lol
There are, and have been, several Lineage 1 private servers.
Lineage 2 was damn near the same thing as Lineage 1, just 3d, better graphics and a much wider selection of classes. And they did have btele eventually.
I played Lineage 1 and Lineage 2 for over 10 years.
Sounds like you're just trying to flex that you're old... which is weird. TBH.

In L1
Healing was accomplished via potion spamming, wasnt a class like L2.
Mages obtained their spells by finding dropped spell books, or buying them from other players as some were quite rare like Invisibility.
Players could post messages on town boards or even scrolls which could be dropped.
Speaking of which, items players dropped on the ground, stayed on the ground, at least until servers were reset.
Moderators actually walked the earth in L1, both publically and in secret, made friends with one who joined my small clan who revealed himself after a while.
L1 was a big loot pinata, a level 10 player could get an extremely rare drop which could be sold turning them into an instant millionaire, never happened in L2.
L1 was more or less soft capped at level 50, which was the highest level an average or even over achieving player could obtain. The few who got past to 51+ were characters being played by multiple players 24 x7 out of Korean cafes.
Seiging was for almost anyone, characters were quite viable in seiges well before level 50, whereas in L2 it was be at level 70 (then level 74 not long after launch) or go home.
Worse, in L2 it took a stupidly long time to Level to 74, I never got close with my level 55 Silver ranger being my highest. I was level 49 in L1 within about 4 months and joined in seiges regularly.
In L1 our small clan actually took possession of the lowest level town a few times, which admittedly wasn't much sought after but still we had to fight for and defend it.
In L2 the castles on my server were 100% controlled by no life alliances, some who literally had "must play at least 10-12 hrs per day" reqs to join.
Let's talk gold farming...if L1 had it, I never saw evidence of it much, definitely wasn't seen in global chat which one had to be level 35 to talk and was heavily moderated by the game masters.
In L2 the gold selling spam was ferocious and the farmers literally controlled places like Cruma Tower. (farming was more a player run affair back then, not by totally automated bots)
While some players fought back, as my Silver Ranger had little group utility I found the gold farmers one of the few places where I could get a group invite even though I rarely understood a word said in chat.
Lineage 2 was actually a pretty good game but greatly marred by some design decisions to make it more time consuming and tedious than L1.
Take pets, in L1 anyone could tame dogs, either Dobermans or German Shepards at a low levels. These pets would actually level up with you (taking a portion of all experience gains) but they really could be a great ass, especially as a mage until you got the Bugbear spell after level 40.
You could even sell your leveled up dogs for big gold, which I eventually did I think to help pay for my Bugbear spell, which were going for about 1M Adena at the time.
L2's pets were difficult to even obtain, were a huge drag on a players own leveling so were totally out of range for most players, so much so I can't even recall seeing very many in the 6 months or so when I played, even from the try hard players.
There's so much more I could go on with, so no, I quite disagree, L1 and L2 were markedly different in so many ways and I would have preferred L2 had stayed more true to its precursors design, but devs never seem willing to create a better version of the original. (For good reason in their minds, but not so much in my view)

To confirm this, I ended up looking for the sites that previously housed information about Lineage II before its massive transformation, and found that he was correct. All of the sites that had detailed drop rates, where monsters spawned, and unique class information — it was all gone. There was nothing left.
Wrong.
https://lineage.pmfun.com/ is still there ( with old info too ) and it was and seems that it still is, the biggest Lineage 2 information of all time!
Anyway, writing about Private Servers yet, you didn't tell us which server you guys were playing?
So which is it? It doesn't seems like Lineage 2 Dex, which is one of the most populated pservers out there.
