Ready Player One .. is Coming in Metaverse

I mean sure..will not be even 1% from what we saw in the movie, at least not at launch, but hey .. its a start! :)

    A pay-to-win VR game that basically destroys humanity?

    What confuses me is that the author of Ready Player One, the guy who basically decided that a metaverse would be a terrible idea, is one of the co-founders of the studio!

    I like the distance between me and my avatar in the current games.

    Of course, I'd of been complaining about 'talkies' never over taking silent films back in the 20s.

    I'm inclined to the more charitable view that maybe he wants to steer development down a more benevolent path.  I hope I'm right and that it's not all about the money because, after all, Ready Player One is his copyrighted intellectual property, and I'm sure he'd be paid a substantial amount based just on that.

    Its 2024...Alot of people fall for alot of stupid things these days. Throw around enough catch words like "metaverse" and they will pay....All you have to do is say "its the future" and people will throw cash at it.
