Was not expecting this! Been asking for years for them to bring back the MM0 7 mouse. Can't wait to get the new version in a few months!

I'm a fan of Madcatz mice, especially the ones with the horizontal scroll. Really a boon in games and I couldn't see myself using any other brand of gaming mice. Have the rat 5, 7 and mmo7 and I constantly resolder switches when they start to double click with new omrons and they work good as new.

I am interested if it has a wired version, the horizonal scroll looks quite clever.

I still have my OG Mad Catz RAT8 mouse from before the company closed down, before it was then acquired and brought back to life. It is a great mouse but drivers didn't translate to Windows 10 at all well, and when they came back with the 8+ those drivers would not work with the original so I moved away from it. I've since moved on to the Swiftpoint mouse and am currently waiting for the Kickstarter for their new version to ship to backers. Having said that I might grab one of these when they become available to see if it brings back some of that super smooth LotRO play I recall from the past.

That thing looks like a Star Citizen spaceship!

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I saw this announcement and remember this mouse well. Definitely a heavy MMO mouse and far cry from the reducing of weight in newer superlites these days.

Left mouse button, right mouse button, and middle scroll button are plenty for me thanks.

For me the addition of forward/back side buttons (usually dodge or roll forward back), but yeah too many buttons for me is a no go. I had a Logi G600 years ago and I think I hot keyed maybe 4 keys because I couldn't be bothered to relearn skill mapping in all my MMOs, good thing too, that POS lasted 1 year before double click issue showed up.

Too heavy would be a problem for me but I do think this feather light mouses have gone too far.

"21 programmable buttons" Where the heck are they all positioned? Can only make out a small number of those.

Yeah, the light weight mice are supposed to help reduce strain when flicking and doing quick mouse movements, so I see a point to it, but I've seen some mod their mice down to just the PCB...and then there is this $800 carbon fiber mouse. https://zaunkoenig.co/m3k

This looks interesting, I have not used a Mad Catz MMO mouse before so I really can't comment. However the Roccat Nyth, which is no longer made/available, is the best mouse for MMO's I have used/use. https://www.newegg.com/roccat-roc-11-901-am-nyth-usb-2-0-wired/p/N82E16826436051 I mainly only play MMO's so having my entire hotbar mapped on my mouse is a God send. I have reached out to Roccat several times to petition them to make a new one. Might have to check this one when it releases.

    Thanks for the article!
