Maybe, but this is just one week. I can't even think what the world would have been like in the golden era (thinking COH, SWG, WOW) if we had new MMO's releasing every week.
A lot of the MMOs releasing are crap, but there's gotta be a gem or two out there.
Have to agree with a couple of these comments about saturation. Been gaming since UO was released online and every time a new decent MMO comes it causes other games to lose population.
I don't think any of those 3 games are massively multiplayer.
Soul Shifters, admittedly, I can't find specific information on. There doesn't seem to be an official website, and the steam page doesn't list the player cap. However, none of the videos I quickly looked through had more than a small amount of players.
OOTP seems to be a 2 player game.
Top Heroes, again, no official website containing proper game info, just a shitty google play store page with hardly any information. But, again, no videos available showing massively multiplayer numbers. Given that most "mobile mmos" are lying to us, I'm gonna assume this one is too.

if only we had websites dedicated to filtering the good ones from the garb... MMORPG websites, even.
This site is as much a hollow shell of it's former self as the genre it was named after.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

I agree. It seems most people who were frequent posters here for decades have moved on.
Nah many are still here under different names now.
Funny to hear people complaining and even funnier when they suggest MOP has some kinda standards.
I get people don't like Blockchain and mobile, but the same people complained about f2p and gacha.
It's probably one of the main reasons this site is even still around.
Unfortunately we can't rely on the old guard. MMOs changed and most people are only now realizing it. Hell half the developers are just now realizing it. Why else are companies trying to diversify. Half the games are looking at mobile ports to stay alive.
There have been a few MMORPGs that came out. Embers Adrift, New World, Ravendawn, Mad World and likely some I'm not aware of or just forgot about.
Many others are planned, some of them intriguing to a least of few posters here, Monsters & Memories for one example.
There are many existing choices and options are expanding, or at least some companies are trying to expand them. Of course for any of that to come to anything at least some of these new efforts must be accepted.

we had better-looking MMOs in 1995.

The broader user base here couldn't handle a postmortem.

some of us had to lose a few accounts before we gave up.
