Cryptic Studios announced it will transition most development over to Deca Games and remain to support their existing titles, which are set to continue their current update cadence.

    "Continue to run a good business"? When have they ever run a good business? They sold out their first and only decent product the first chance they got, and they've been making utter garbage ever since, surviving by the skin of their teeth on predatory monetization.

    They could shut Cryptic down today and, as a friend used to say when a teammate died (and he was healing), "and nothing of value was lost."

    Or more succinctly stated, "the longer term position is that Cryptic is going to be more of a support team."

    Champions Online will keep getting lockboxes, which is the only form of content, for YEARS to come

    The Foundry was an excellent feature in Neverwinter with some standout player made content.....so they shut it down.

    A cynical dissection of  the announcement - we're cutting costs by getting rid of staff and reducing content for all these game. But don't worry, it'll be fine, head over to the zen store for our latest offers.

    They've been revamping powersets, so lockboxes isn't the only thing.

    Pretty close to it though when CO barely amounts to a NW footnote.

    It could have been worse as at least STO and NW will still be getting some new content for awhile anyway.

    Regarding new content, I think it will be a case of wait and see for those playing these games.
    As usual with any cost cutting/staff reductions, the parent organisation seeks to mitigate the damage with a 'these games will still get future somethings' addendum.
