    uuuuuuuuuhhhh.

    Okey so.... wtf?

ARC Games has been around for awhile now (like years), which embracer group owned already...when they acquired Perfect World Entertainment properties years ago.

How is this even news??? Also is this like some type of backroom deal where years ago someone just forgot to properly license and pay for the ARC games client, logos and names just so that wouldn't have to be financially responsible entities? Because I'd totally believe that as honestly; i can't think of any real importance to the ARC Games client and platform since it's existence.

This just.... makes my head hurt so much.

It's not a backroom deal. As the article mentions Gearbox was traded for stock. Any reference to Gearbox, of which some had been made, had to be removed from those games kept.

So did they just erase the Gearbox labelling and replace it with Arc Games (Previously known as Perfect World Entertainment)?

The wording is rather strange since Gearbox can't become Arc, but can be replaced by it.

Arc - Arc 2 actually - is the games delivery platform and store, like Steam is for Valve. Most of Gearbox and Gearbox Publishing was sold off to Take 2, including most studios, IP, and assets. Gearbox Publishing San Fransico remained with Embracer Group and has been rebranded as Arc Games. Embracer also kept Cryptic and its trio of MMOs (do they have more?).

As for the Gearbox name, Take Two's press release makes it sound like Randy Pitchford will continue to head the studio, name and all, under the 2K games division.

Sorry, it was really late and my brain just couldn't compute some things, mostly because when i saw the mention of the Arc client, lots of old memories rushed in, haha.

The important thing to me is that Take2 retains control of the Bioshock franchise. I personally feel like Take2 and 2K will at least not let the IP and franchise go to waste, if there is still consumer interest in it.

What I really want to see is the rumored shooter by Ken Levine. I'm not sure if his future games will be for me, but I really loved Bioshock and I have liked a lot of things he's said about building building narratives and game design.
