The Fallout IP has unsurprisingly seen a resurgence in excitement due to the positive reception of Amazon Prime's Fallout TV series, which is set in the same universe.

I've had Fallout 76 on my Steam wish list for years and they do this sale on a pretty frequent bases. You can grab the base game for $8 3-4 times per year on all the various large sales Steam does.
Personally, my hope is for a Fallout 5 to come out of this going back to the series' single player game roots.
There were some issues with the show, but it's a decent adaptation for mass appeal. I think they screwed up some stuff but I liked the show enough to watch it twice.
I'd contend an animated adaptation would likely be better overall, and the awkward sex moments were probably unnecessary, but I'm happy with it. The tease at the end has me excited for the next season.
With that said, new players for 76 are also finding out that the game is pretty good. Its solid now and a lot of fun and is enjoyable. It has come a long way since launch (and I was there at launch and been around since - I have 877 hours in it so far. Its not perfect but it gives me that survival experience with everything I want. And looking at articles and videos from the newly released PTS with the expansion content, its going to be a good year.
this isn't true, I love the fallout IP and have played all of the games. I absolutely loved the show and think they knocked it out of the park. the same can be said with all my friends who I watched the show with who are like me and big fans of all the fallout games, even the guys who created fallout loved the show lol..
He's just wrong and making it up with nothing to back it up. Fallout fans on reddit collectively agree that the tv show is great. There are always gonna be outcast haters that thinks they represent everyone else. He is one of them.
The writing is bad and stilted. Things happen out of pure coincidence to make sure the show moves forward. There is little to no thought about the motivations of actions. In the first two episodes alone the show betrays 2 separate characters in just rhe actions taken.
The main character raised in a vault acts like a 2024 tween not someone raised in a sudo 50s alt environment. Not to mention the straight psychopathic way she acts in the wasteland environment compared to how she should act being raised in a enclosed vault.
The show relies on Marvel levels of comedy which has never been Fallout. The crazy things that could happen in the games were funny because they contrasted with the dark and serious environments and story. Won't even speak to the tonal whiplash that happens from poorly acted scene to poorly acted scene.
The show feels like a bad stage play where people were given a one sheet about what Fallout is supposed to be on the thinest terms and interpreted by people who only played 4.
There is much more there than just this, but there is plenty to back up why this show is bad.
I can't speak to the whole show as I have not seen it, but I watched the trailers and I did think the women from the vault was speaking to modern day teens. As for the rest of it I am not so sure you are correct as so many seem to think otherwise.
I agree with you 100% the rings show was good looking and for a just standard like tv show was ok but man they could've just stuck to the ip and it would have been great. I feel that way about the wheel of time too. There is a reason its popular already just stick to that formula.

Ummm...LOL...
Sorry I just have to completely disagree, as I've stated I have played all of the games and the humor of the show captures the humor of the Fallout IP very well. I also disagree about Lucy not behaving like a pseudo 1950's young woman. The bubbly personality is the quintessential 1950's young woman caricature that was popularized in that period. There were many things similar to teenage girls in 1950 that are shared with teenage girls today, so obviously you will sense those similarities considering the fact that people from different decades aren't aliens, the only real difference between generations is that time happened.
It's fine if you don't like the show, but your criticism's almost make it sound like you didn't actually watch or pay attention to the show, and just went into it fully ready to hate it and be contrarian for whatever reason.
