As tired as I am of seeing the descriptor "cozy", I'm looking forward to a farm-life Sim in the Shire. There better be pipe-weed....

So, not my kind of thing but it looks amazing. I’d be more inclined to buy it if there was a small chance for the Nazgûl to ride in and lay waste to everything.

Like the Orions in the “Masters of Orion “ games… Only Nazgûl… :D

Interesting. But is scares me soon we will have every village in Middle Earth to have a *cozy* game. Cozy life in Hobbiton. Cozy life in Bree. Cozy life in Rivendell. Cozy life in Mians Tirith [before battle].Cozy life in Edoras. Cozy life in Entwood. Cozy life in cozy Moria.Cozy life in Misty mountains. Cozy life in [any other settlement of Middle Earth, excluding Mordor].

I would wish for impossible: a game to be played for Sauron's side. Even if it is...ehem...cozy. Your standard farm and you, orc from DarkBrainless tribe. You grow, you upgrade - because if not, your Uruk-hai overseer will whip you - then you grow and upgrade. You may even see local Nazgul flying/riding near your farm. Or legions of your own Orcs marching to victory at Black Gate.

Not sure Nazgul flybys and anything that sounds vaguely military like those Orcs will work in a cosy game. The idea of a pastel Mordor gives me nightmares. :)

Back in the day, I remember a LotR game that had an evil campaign ending in Sauron steamrolling the Shire. I think it was either Conquest or Third Age. Hilariously cathartic.

Can you imagine the uproar if they decided to make a game like that today? I could even see that making the national press, "Developer defends hobbit genocide!".

See, I'm down for a cozy dwarf mining game. I'm ready to delve too greedily and too deep. ?

There are plenty of LoTR games that aren't as cozy if that is one's preference. Some may enjoy having this additional option.

Go for the right tone and people will laugh. You just need to be suitably over the top. Like, Overlord (aka Evil Pikmin) in the LotR universe.

I am curious about this game!

Love a bit of LotR, not really into the cozy game stuff but if it has enough creativity then I'll give it a shot. I wouldn't mind digging my own hobbit hole, building up some businesses etc. Hopefully the fishing is good too!

Fact is the Shire in Lotro is the best area for roleplaying in a MMO I have ever known, you could do a lot of what they are saying here with guildmates and a little imagination.

You are reminding me we did as much stuff in Bree as the Shire, the reason I remember the Shire more is this was the first and only zone I entered in a MMORPG and found players roleplaying nearly exclusively in zone chat. You asked a question, roleplayed or not you got a roleplayed answer. I will never forget that.
