After DDoS attacks caused Final Fantasy XIV to suffer from disconnects, crashes, and the inability to log in across multiple regions, Square Enix has updated on the recovery from those incidents.

    Not totally unlikely, irate players are usually behind this nonsense, hopefully its all sorted out for the players soon, must be so frustrating.

    I have a hard time believing this. Don't we have methods and tools to prevent DDoS attacks now? Let's say their claim is legit, then they are guilty for not taking the proper precautions. But I feel this is not legit, but an excuse for bad IT.

    There is no full proof method of preventing DDos attacks, governments main websites get DDos attacks and they pay for the best there is.

    Couldn't get in. It was down for maintenance. It's most likely because of that. It was probably some kid that got peed off because of maintenance being at the wrong time. Anyone could do it. I could do it right now to the game or anything else if I wanted but what's the point? It just annoys the player base. 

    This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
