Another giant "You Be Soft" game where have to break out your wallet to experience all the mediocre content in the game you paid for.
For real. One of the concessions I had to make in order to enjoy gaming more is to just come to the understanding that all of the best content is in the base game, and I don't need dlc.
Mirage was not a full game or full price and i did not enjoy what i played of it. Valhalla was alright, but did not feel like an AC game. My favorite ones were origins and odyssey. I believe shadows is supposed to be along those lines. The trailer looked pretty sweet to me. In not sure why Ubi gets so much hate I think they make some of the better games out there. Some franchises like far cry and AC have grown stale but they seem to be trying to mix it up and acknowledging they need to change up a bit. I think they need a new rayman or splinter cell game
$70 bucks for the base game, another $100 to actually enjoy it.
You can pick it up when the Super Directors Collectors Edition with all DLC and 2 years worth of seasons goes on sale for $9.99 seven months later. The only thing you miss out on is a lame preorder bonus.
I dunno, looks pretty cool to me, but I prefer the open world style AC games of Odyssey. People clamor about returning to the game's "roots" but I found the originals to be pretty linear for my taste. I'll wait for some reviews and maybe a sale. Definitely not preordering.

I think the best case scenario for the series would be something of a hybridization of old and new.
A return to dense, parkour-heavy cityscapes rather than open world checklist gameplay.
Dynamic events, and spawned bounty targets to add life to the city.
Classic stealth gameplay, but now strictly optional. No bonus objectives based on stealth either. Just a valid and well-designed way to play the game.
The new combat system.
RPG mechanics from the newer games.
Classic aesthetics with the assassin cloaks.
Ability to choose between male and female assassins that are the same character and then personalize them (ie: Commander Shephard).
AC4 is the best of the classics in my opinion. AC Odyssey is my favorite new one. I'm down for Feudal Japan.
They overprice their games in my opinion, but they also offer incredible sales after a while. If release pricing is too high, then wait for a sale. Don't pretend it's bad because they're asking more than you're willing to pay. Just be a good capitalist and wait for the bargain.
This cinematic trailer was great, but there was no game play & it is still Ubisoft. Here's what I expect from this game & Ubisoft: Ubisoft will say one thing about this game being for certain then later on change that one certain thing. There will be lots of grind, but no worry since Ubisoft will offer boosts at a price. I won't pre-order & I'll even wait a bit after the official release trying to avoid any bait & switch marketing.
Awesome. I loved the last AC and this looks great. People can say whatever they want to but personally I like the games and they sell very well so I am not alone.

Now that I'm retired (before I'm 50 at that, 30 years in the army was long enough) I won't be buying very many new games on release. Plenty of great games 2-3 years old that I can buy for $20 or less.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
I can't say I liked the premise of Assassin's Creed - going back in time through the memory (genetics?) of an ancestor through some organization "whatever."
However, I did like Odyssey. Didn't really feel like an Assassin's Creed game and the time travel thing seemed tacked on the beginning. Haven't finished it so I don't know if it comes back.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

I never did like the whole science fiction or the modern day stuff. I feel like the series would have been better without it.

Bro... you stole that from me
Not at all, it's just what has always come to mind when I see their name. I guess we think alike in that way
