And here I thought it officially released years ago

Yeah now that the game has no players and is irrelevant in its operating system and catagory, great time to release it. No one cares lol.

This is my reply when you guys go on about the EA's that ended up well, for every one of those we have one of these.

How do you think this isn't ending up well? There is over 34K concurrent players on Steam alone, right now (Sunday morning in the US). The community is huge and this is one of the most popular modded platforms in the genre.

I have over 1K hours in the Steam client alone, not including my time on Xbox console and PC. This game is fantastic at what it does and what it offers, especially with mods. I would argue it's more powerful than Skyrim modding because it can offer features a modded Skyrim never could.

To be fair to it, there's currently 31,000 people playing it on Steam, so I wouldn't say it has "no players" or is "irrelevant". There's clearly still an active player base.

I own it and played it. While it is not my cup of tea those saying it's dead or has no players have no clue.

Me and couple of buddies played the crap out of it years ago. We modded it, and did all kinds of stuff with it. It was incredibly fun, though somewhat buggy. But it was early access. Hopefully they have tweaked the problematic areas. Game is a great apocalyptic survival sandbox especially if you work with buddies.

If ever there was a game where the concept of a "released" version was so obsolete it's this one.

Even now, this 1.0 version could easily be Alpha 22 as it still does not have all of the features promised during its Kickstarter and odds are good it never will.

What's in a number?  Well, with this release they can start charging more money for the game, especially impactful on console users who have to repurchase the game (perhaps at a discount, perhaps not).

While PC users get a pass at this time I'll be surprised if there isn't something else made available to purchase in the near future.

In fact, there already is, they are working with another studio to deliver a 4 vs 1 spin-off called Blood Moons which looks as if it could have easily been just an add on mode to the original game.

I can't complain, I've got 1926 hours playing since starting for the first time last summer, all for the $19.99 bargain price I paid on a Steam sale about 6 years ago.

7DtD has alot of fans....Too many people nowadays get caught up in what a game is labeled...The early access label didnt bother me one iota...The game is fun to play, that is the bottom line to me....They are passionate about what they do and make many improvements. Would you all rather they say the game was released 10 years ago  and went on to another project like most other companies would do? Thats why we have so many crap games. I've played this over 2000 hours and got it on sale for $7.50... How can anyone complain about that?

One of my favorite games! One of the first games I bought through Steam. I'm looking forward to 1.0

Please enlighten everyone how the game has "no players" and "no one cares" when Steam charts say otherwise.

Is this the longest a game has been in EA on steam?

Been waiting for this moment since forever. If you haven't bought it yet, now's the chance while it's not so expensive.
I've been playing it with my friends for more than four years now, and we can't get enough. And we rent a server because there is a massive increase in FPS for the host if you run the game from a private server. We've got our own little slice of apocalypse paradise going, and it's just $6 a month for the server.
The server is from 7d2d.net. I don't know which one you guys use, but theirs are stable and for a good price.
