The Division 3 Announced

I saw that the Division 3 was announced yesterday but didn't see a news story about it here. 
Not sure if this site covers The Division games or not. 
The game does seem to be a release in the future and not soon. (They said they are building the team now with a new director for the series the man who is doing Star Wars Outlaws)

I liked the first two for the pve but had a hard time being competitive in the pvp.

Really fun pve though and I enjoyed the worlds. 
I am looking forward to 3. 
I preferred the first one's setting (snow) but the second one's more refined gameplay

If they go a different direction for setting that would be great. Maybe even not in the USA.

Anyone else like the series?

    I like the series, but division fans already know the playbook. Since they pretty much put 2 in maintenance mode, and 1 lasted even less time. Resurgence is mobile, so not for the core audience and Heartland is PvP focused. 

    I feel like they just keep pumping the sequels because they have no idea how to run a live service game.

    At this point, I dont really understand the point of the games outside of just wanting to do the same thing in a different location. What makes that kind of seem like a more sore thumb to me vs say the CoD franchise or Battlefield is the mmo-like grind of the Division series. Its like playing a mmo, grinding out the best gear and instead of just adding an expansion, they reset the game.

    The Division 1 was fun for the short time I played it with a friend. I didn't like mostly all the cool loot being in the pvp zone or behind a couple group events. If it were a single player game, pve coop, or a Fallout76 style pve persistent server, I'd have liked it a lot. I skipped 2 because of that experience and will probably skip 3 as well. It just isn't a game for me.

    The next Ubisoft game I buy and play will probably be Ghost Recon: Wildlands. I like stealth sniping.

    I only played TD2 as it came free with my CPU.

    I have to say, the gameplay was pretty great and the world building was amazing. Pretty much the only game where i noticed the benefit of ray tracing. I'm usually not a fan of shooters at all, but the gunplay and cover mechanics won me over.

    My main issue was the "looter" part of the game. I'm just not a fan of that style of meta-game. So, once I hit the level cap and completed all the content, I was done. I did try the PvP but the arena setup sucked (too small scale) and the Dark Zone setup was also too small and too much of a gankers paradise.


    I won't be playing TD3, but I am very curious about the Star Wars game that the studio is building. It'll be (i think.....) the first AAA star wars game since EA got their exclusive license over a decade ago!!

    Never tried the previous games, but might give this one a chance. I have personally played the BR genre since Arma III BR, so I am pretty fed up with it. EFT and Dark and Darker adds a nice touch to this, which is in line with The Division. But yeah, the end-game feels a little non-existent. Needs more sand in the box for the longevity.

    I am hoping they make the dark zones a little bigger this time round, not sure why but in D2 i didnt like the tweaks they made to the dark zones

    I haven't delved into the earlier games, but I'm considering trying this one out. I've been involved with the Battle Royale genre since Arma III BR, so I'm a bit fatigued by it. The influences from EFT and the darker elements reminiscent of The Division add an intriguing dimension. However, it feels like the end-game content is lacking. To ensure longevity, there should be more open-ended possibilities, akin to adding more sand in the box for players to explore.

    While I haven't explored the previous entries in the series, I'm contemplating giving this particular game a try. My history with the Battle Royale genre extends back to Arma III BR, and admittedly, I've been experiencing some fatigue with it. The incorporation of influences from EFT and the darker thematic elements reminiscent of The Division adds an intriguing dimension that caught my attention.

    I liked the Division 2.  The problem was that when it was released, there really wasn't enough content.  Got through it quick, then run through 4 or 5 can't remember, instances.  Got boring fast. Hoping that this one has more.

    While it's essential for developers to innovate and explore new directions for the series, it's also important to maintain a connection with the core audience and deliver experiences that resonate with them. Finding the right balance between innovation and staying true to the franchise's roots can be challenging but ultimately rewarding.
