I recently picked up The Ghost of Tsushima on a whim and cannot recommend this game enough. The combat is just excellent. Both challenging and yet so satisfying when you get it right. It's beautiful and all the systems are really well thought out. The voice acting is well done. It's a masterpiece of a game that wasn't even on my radar until it showed up on steam. Sony is on a roll minus the little Helldivers snafu.
Definitely a masterpiece! I especially loved the duels. The tension and focus required during those one-on-one showdowns were incredible.
Haha, about Helldivers... Maybe they'll patch it up eventually, but who knows
So here's my top 10 as of TGS and other recent announcement events. And the bolded are already confirmed for Gamepass or are free, so I'll just be able to play them.
Not a whole lot of variety here, as 2024 is looking to be maybe the best year for JRPGs ever. But also a couple huge upcoming ARPGs.
1. Metaphor Re Fantazio 2. Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth 3. Persona 3 Reload 4. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name 5. Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes 6. Trails Through Daybreak 7. Ys X Nordics 8. Titan Quest 2 9. Path of Exile 2 10. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Like literally the entirely same list I was thinking of minus Eiyuden Chronicle.
Honestly that's a smart call given that Eiyuden should not have launched in its current state. Our Xbox Series X is GUARANTEED to overheat in a certain final chapter cutscene that can't be skipped, and it hasn't been fixed in over a month.
I am very excited for the WOW expansion which is wild to say after 20 years. The delves sound a lot like the same thing in ESO and I love those. Also warbands, having all characters on the same account so everything like faction and rewards are available is really awesome. And knowing its a 3 expansion storyline and plan is really cool. I am hoping it has a good narrative too. That would be a great bonus.
Baldur's Gate 3 is awesome, I've been playing it for over a year now (not continously).
Bloodlines 2 is still not out, and I'm not really that excited about it either, so if I actually get it is like 50-50 ? Like you cant actually create your own character, namely you are always named Pyre or something like that, and you'll have to pay endlessly for DLCs, ...
Starfield turned out to be ... not fun.
Is TES6 even still a thing ? What will happen with Bethesda, now that Microsoft owns them ?

Ashes of Creation
Indy on Gamepass
Avowed on Gamepass
Fable on Gamepass
The addition of 3rd person to Avowed moved it high up the list.
