Fable at one time was kind of fun. But it will suck. For the same reasons several recent AAA games have bombed.
Ok I just watched the trailer. Yup. Spot on.
Yes it's clearly other people who are obsessed with putting politics into everything. Not you guys who have nothing to contribute but complaining about a woman being in a trailer

Go touch some grass, my god.
its not about politics for everyone, I am as woke as you can get and proudly, but its going overboard, seems like every trailer I watched during the xbox show yesterday was all female protagnists...to begin with I have a hard time playing games that I can not create my character, I guess to some degree my character is an extension of myself and I am not female. Is that right or wrong, I dont know and dont care, I am sure many others view thier characters the same way...reality, evolution made the male body to be stronger and more agile, I am not saying there are not females who are not strong and agile but women are complaining about trans guys winning in womens sports for a reason.

What about all those many years where there were male protagonists? Certainly there were women who wanted to play an extension of themselves as well?
Additionally, I’ve been to several PAX and even a gencon event and a good many of those guys would have an equally hard time being a hero protagonist in any way, shape or form.
Perhaps we can just chalk it up to a fantasy of strength and capability for both genders.

At this point you have to wonder. Do they make the characters so friking ugly because they believe in giving ugly people representation or are these younger devs (born in the late 80s and 90s-00s with partipation trophies diplomas) unable of doing it any better?
The first 4-5 years of this trend could pass as intentional but by now i'm not so sure that it's an agenda but just seer incompetence/involution of workmanship.
Well, I guess it's a testament to how ugly I am that I look at her and think she's cute, albeit not gorgeous. She's built nicely. Athletic. She's certainly not a troll. I'd ask her out if she were, you know, actually human and not pixels, and I weren't both happily married and old enough to be her dad. To each their own I guess.
I get it that clearly they're going for a mixed race look with the light brown skin with freckles. However, I would challenge you on knee jerking into calling that DEI. I'm a pretty conservative guy, mind you. I'm pro 2A, pro traditional family, pro small government. DEI has taken on a connotation of "race matters more than ability", and I'm not sure we have enough information to make that sort of statement here other than "she doesn't look like a supermodel, so it must be DEI". You ever watch female MMA or heck most female sports (basketball, soccer, rugby)? Not a lot of those ladies are exactly supermodel status, though there's a handful that do clean up nicely. Point being that a female that's good at fighting and adventuring more than likely isn't going to look like a pinup model. Maybe that's what they're going after here, not so much DEI?
How about we assume the best instead of the worst?
Really if you were going to pull the DEI card you should call out the female protagonist choice over her looks. I mean if the whole "anything a man can do a woman can do better" fantasy were true then we wouldn't have all this debate about allowing men who have transitioned into women competing in women's sports. Wouldn't they all be getting clobbered by the women if that were true? So why aren't we upset about that? It's called fantasy. It's a fantasy game. Women get to be powerful in fantasy stories. Why don't they get to be a 7/10 as well? When was the last time you were upset that a male protagonist in a video game wasn't hot enough? Ever? Did that ever cross your mind? Maybe you should spend some time in introspection contemplating that because there's probably something there you should work on. Just saying.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they gender lock a male character in the first Fable?

Yes ugly is the new beautiful!
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

I hope they keep the fun of the first one and drop all the busywork that crept into the sequels.
Plus, enough of woke, tyvm. I want to be dead asleep, in nice fantasy lands.
