Raph Koster's Playable Worlds has been pretty quiet on their upcoming project, with the occasional notable hire, info or partnership, but it seems like something is coming with a new mystery countdown happening.
Comments
The first clue in their countdown sounds like a monitized solution looking for a problem.
The project is privately funded.

Granted, I'm at a loss as to how privately funded relieves monetization concerns.
He is a known figure in the gaming industry, therefore he will have supporters and detractors, goes with the territory.
Indeed, but I recon this is going to be some sort of Rift like ability to "change your class on the fly". With all the same benefits and problems that caused for gameplay.
10: What if... you could actually invent new things in an MMO?
9: What if... there was a way to discover secrets in an MMO -- and no easy wiki holding all the answers?
My impression: Just from the sound of things, they want to create the holy grail of video games. If it's a fantasy game (the image looks sci-fi) then imagine being a wizard who could invent entirely new powerful spells based on the magical rules of the world. If it's a sci-fi game, imagine being a researcher who invents incredible tech based on actual mathematics.
It sounds like they are about to promise a type of "universe" similar to Star Citizen. Take that for what you will.
With a name like "playable worlds" it doesnt give me much confidence
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
The Force is strong with this one.
10: Eclipse Phase/Altered Carbon MMO when?
9: No thanks.
I do give logic challenges a fair shake however I have yet to play a game where there wasn't at least one such puzzle that was a complete waste of my time. Put the key behind a jumping puzzle and it's probably going to be a hard pass from me. If that blocks my progress then the developer really wasn't interested in my money.
Why?

I don't understand why you believe Raph has anything to do with what Richard Garriott has done after working with him on the Ultima Online project. He had nothing to do with any MMOs after Star Wars Galaxies.
