Kazuma had the chance to go hands-on with the latest build of Throne and Liberty here in the West during Summer Game Fest, and had the chance to chat with the developers about the upcoming MMO.

    Here's a question, is the chat still awful? It was using some little mobile-crap like chat window without a /say, general chat, or anything like that. Truly about as bad as New World's chat window. If that stays in the game, that immediately kills any and all sense of real community. If you can't be bothered to have a robust chat system, just kill the game right off the bat.

    RPers certainly aren't going to play that crap and rather people like it or not, RPers a lot of the time are community builders. They'll host events, keep forums looking fresh, discords, etc, or just buy cosmetics more often than others, besides maybe whales.

    Total fail if the chat is as crap as it was before.
    I like to complain about games.

    I laugh at Amazon saying that there is casual content in the game, also you can solo...lol

    Unless there is some amazing new(never been seen) casual content, that amazon has...lol

    Only thing you can do solo, at endgame is to do contracts (rep grind), and I guess to try and out DD the whales during events.

    Chat is tough to control. Even in City of Heroes on the Homecoming server this person I think it is the same person with profanity laced copy pasted sentences floods each channel. It happened quite a bit when I was playing. 

    I think this particular game is about guilds fighting other guilds. That is the main draw. Although people might want to solo and RPG the main attraction here are the big sieges and world boss fights where players from different guilds are killing each other. 

    The videos I watched looked like real fun could be had if they do not introduce too much aggressive monetisation. Otherwise it is doomed because this type of game cannot survive with a few hundred players. It needs a certain threshold to hold those large player city sieges and for people to attack and defend.

    game sounds interesting but NC soft dosnt have a good track record as far as I am concerned, so for me no hype at all, but when it comes out I will take a look at it then, the monetization will play a major factor in how much I actually look at it...

    When NC Soft killed Auto Assualt they pretty much lost me as a customer, we will see if this game is interesting enough to bring me back

    In the closed beta there were some things I was genuinely impressed by, though i choose to not play much of it as i didn't want to so-call 'shoot my load' all in one playtest period; instead i spent a lot of time checking out what the game was capable of visually and what could potentially affect it's performance.

    The first main city a player goes to with what looked like nearly over a hundred other players ALL visible at the same time with not even any noticeable slowdown or pop-in is what grabbed my attention immediately.

    The chat UI was a bit 'wanting' but not terrible.

    So much intriguing stuff, especially the Lineage 2 elements, but that whole “turn into an animal” aspect is just so gimmicky.
