Referral cash amount?

Does anyone know why, in June 2024, we still cannot see how much our "referrals" have accrued to? Since day one we were told that they would soon show us how much we were owed. Yet here it is, 7 years later and we still cannot see that.

Why?

Does this seem super duper sketchy to anyone else?

Also, the assumption was that you could cash it out for real money (after launch), but now it reads as though it might be at some kind of reduced rate? Is that correct? Is that clarified anywhere? And if not, why not after all this time?

For reference, here is a discussion from 2017 about the original Referral program. The actual link on the Ashes site is no longer functioning and has been replaced by a new page that discusses Intrepid Bucks.

Edit to add a link to a clear statement by Steven from 2017 that we would get 15% in dollars of any referral amounts. On an ongoing basis (So a sub from a referred person would give you money every month they subbed)

"Just to be clear.

Our referral system works the opposite of a pyramid. If you refer someone who spends $15 to play our game, you are rewarded with $2.25."

Oh, on the website you can see how many referrals you have. But not how much money you are owed.

But again, he has been saying for 7 years that they were revamping stuff and would soon show it. Yet never have. It also looks like they are testing the waters for NOT giving you the full promised amount if you cash out. And from Stephen's quote (and others) it was always stated you could get 15% CASH (after the game launched).

IMHO this is why it's been pushed so much. "Influencers" and "Content creators" are likely double dipping and hope to make bank, whether or not the game flops.

Well he was clear that no payment until launch. But it’s now 7 years and he keeps saying that they will show you how much you are owed… soon. Something about that just seems… weird.

Particularly since he has set this up for his MLM stuff in the past. It shouldn’t be very hard and it certainly shouldn’t take 7 years.

Two thoughts you had which I will generalise:

Crowd Funded Gaming and Super Duper Sketchy...they do unfortunately seem to go hand in hand. Still fingers crossed as we need more MMOs which are not the same old template.

Since my background is chip design, I'm gonna start a crowd-funded chip project. It's going to be the best and most powerful CPU chip ever done, and it won't be the same old thing as previous chips. We have some fantastic ideas which we'll be rolling out in the near future.

Of course, as the chip is being developed you can still use it, but it might have some bugs and won't have all the needed instructions or features. We expect to go through a length Early Access period where you can get the chip early and begin enjoying the new marketecture before everyone else.

This isn't about Crowdfunding. I actually didn't back the game. It's about the sketchy referral system which has always been eyebrow raising.
