This here is a video game remote to rue them all. Would you buy? Do you think it will be successful? Do you think we will make a better one without a headset for mmorpgs in the future? What are your thoughts. /discuss!

    I cannot play VR . I cannot even manage first person view. So not really .

    Biggest issue I can see with this setup: lack of feedback.


    Virtual Reality requires a two-way communication between player and game. When I move in real life, that needs to be reflected in game. If I touch something ingame, I need to feel it in real life.


    If the communication is only one-way (in this case, input only), then these things don't really work as virtual reality. The experience is too disjointed, input/feedback is compromised because your real self and your virtual self are not connected.

    Yeah, but that's a trap. Employers want control of the Feedback buttons connected to the chips in our heads. 

    On the other hand, this could work great for "real justice systems" in MMORPGs.

    I still feel like VR is just a novelty,

    It is neat and all and I would try it, but I don't think it is the future.

    There is this tendency to just throw tech at video games to try to make them better, VR, more processing power, AI etc.

    But I think the issue is one of design, games maybe be underpinned by technology and new technology can allow new modes of play but they are fundamentally art.

    Design will make or break a game, tech is a very distant second.

    It may be very "realistic and immersive" but do I really want to play the same quest grind except this time I can pick an NPCs nose with haptic feedback, no not really.

    I think if they get rid of the VR glasses and build a game cube you can sit inside of VR will finally take off. AI, VR, plus an immersive box to sit inside of will make even OMNI seem like just a remote. The problem with this idea though, is that you'll get addicted to AI VR and never come out of the box. :)
