  The graphics come as part of the Dawntrail expansion release. They're not tied to it, as everyone gets the graphic upgrade, but they are considered a feature of Dawntrail. 7.0 is Dawntrail's early release date as well.

  I'm still playing through Stormblood personally but at least I'll definitely feel the graphical overhaul with this expansion update. It is going to be a exciting week for the FFXIV community

  They really should consider doing what Blizzard has done for patches around expansions and just make parts encrypted but at least downloadable ahead of time to lower downtime because 2 days of downtime is pretty wild (I know they've always had pretty long downtimes especially around expansions but it shouldn't be the norm).

  Having spent most of 2024 in intensive catch-up mode, I'm ready for a short break.
  
  Looking forward to Friday! (P.S. The maintenance notice clearly states that the maintenance period will not end early under any circumstances. There is no point in even trying to log in before the stated time.)
