Uh, yeah. Everyone knows it went live 2 days ago. It sucks. It wasn't an advertising issue. The game just plain sucks.
Not to me! Played LE and PoE's new seasons and D4 is my favorite. PoE is overly complex and LE just didn't do enough in 1.1 to keep me interested. All are great games imo.
Honestly, it's one of my favorite seasons so far. I'm enjoying the Infernal Hordes. Still not a fan of helltide events tbh. Blizzard just seems to love timed events for some reason. Just returned last season after being gone for a while and they added a ton of QOL stuff. Having a pet to gather all the gold and resources is really nice. Aspects don't take up inventory anymore. Necromancer actually has really strong pet builds now. Imagine that, Necromancer using pets!
Yeah I fired it up again because I had just finished the main story in No Man's Sky and was kinda between games. Since I have D4 I figured why not? Playing a Rogue build and having fun. I like the loot pet. D3 had those and it's just a little QOL thing, but it's welcome.
For me I like the Helltide events because first they are very frequent so even if you log in on the tail end of one there will be a new one shortly. Also you don't have to run the whole thing. If you just want to open a few chests and call it good, you can. If you want to get your hatred meter full and do the little mini even and call it you can. If you want to find a group to run around with and kill bosses you can. It's sort of yours to do with as you please.
The only thing I don't like is that you HAVE TO grind Dungeons full stop. That is not an optional activity because you HAVE TO level your glyphs and there is no other mechanism by which you can level those. Running them is fine the first 20 times. By your 200th run it's really really old. Really old. It would be nice if there were another activity or two that could level glyphs so you could cycle between them.
I realize it's an ARPG and grind is the name of the game, but variety is a nice way to break things up. I love pizza too, but pizza for every meal every day gets old pretty fast as well.

Simple people like simple games. It's why D4 exists.

Some people settle like to pay for mediocrity. It is why consoles thrive.
After it's season focused on game improvement D4 is in a much better state than previously. Should their first expansion go equally well it will be a very strong option for the genre.
