Ryan really has never managed to get into World of Warcraft. Yet with this month's The War Within expansion on the horizon, it might just be the way for him to get into Blizzard's MMORPG.

This argument again? Please, most people do not even understand what woke means and what they complain about when using it.
I have played Warcraft games since the 1990s and the only thing that has changed is the war between the Horde and Alliance is no longer the focus. GOOD. 30+ years of that would be boring. Here is a shocker - in the history of Azeroth and the universe of WOW, that war is a small period of time. Its a bleep in the history. In addition the war itself was limiting to the game design and development of the game. This was seen early on in WOW's launch when trying to balance raids and such with only Paladins or only Shaman was difficult.
WOW did not change because its WOKE. WOW changed because its playerbase did. I would argue that right now with TWW coming, WOW is at the best point it has been since WOTLK. Is it perfect? No, but its a solid game, its fun and enjoyable.
1. The contiguous block of time required to run these things is absurd. I would say a half hour commitment is the max. That's not to say I don't ever play more than that amount of time. It's just I choose to let other people's priorities be more important than my gaming hobby and a half our is the most im willing to tell someone they'll have to wait before I can help them or spend time with them.
2. The scheduling requirements. Since raids require groups, obviously, that means you're going to have to schedule time with said group to run your raid. Kinda hard to run a 10 man raid one person at a time. Well, again, due to my life priorities and goals I'm pretty much already scheduled up, so I cannot guarantee you I'll be online Wednesday 8pm to midnight to run the raid. Sorry.
The delves seem to solve the above limitation of mine and gives at least some amount of end game progression that was completely absent in WoW prior to this expac. For that reason I will say I'm interested. Not enough interested to preorder. I will wait for the launch dust to settle and some reviews and guides to come out and make a decision at that time. I've never been able to keep up with the hardcore players so early access does nothing for me. I will end up in the same place regardless.
Most people don't know that the term "Woke" was co-opted by bigoted people. It's original meaning meant "one who is aware of your roots, social injustice, a fighter for equality, and one who has their eyes open to prevent people from pulling the wool over them (hence the word woke to mean awake)."
Now the meaning of "WOKE" means "a world that should only be meant for white, male, straight, so-called christian society" The legal team of desantis of florida actually defined woke as "anti-diversity, anti-equality, anti-justice for all" look it up that is their legal definition for a word called "WOKE" that you so PROUDLY say is some sort of slur.
+1 FOR A MORE WOKE WORLD TO LIVE IN! BTW Erika Bydu (I misspelled her name cuz I don't feel like looking up the right spelling) coined the phrase "woke" educate yourselves.
And if you want to throw a slur over at WoW then say so directly "WoW is not anti-diversity, anti-equality, and anti-justice for all enough" There I fixed it for you.
Enjoy your messed up life! @Oshric
I can relate to you problems with time commitment - particularly with raids. On the other hand, I find it interesting that you think Mythic+ falls into this category. My view on Mythic+ is that it is exactly designed for people like you (and me) in the sense that it really is designed for people only looking for a sub-30 minute fix. M+ dungeons are generally pretty quick by design, and you can pick away at your progression whenever you can make the time. Modern WoW is pretty easy going in that way.
That said, I think the rest of the game has become a sort of weird pokemon, casual mount collecting, mindless world quest spamming, experience. The open world content is just too easy and bland that it's hard to stay in that game for long. I really wish the WoW devs would look closely at Guild Wars 2 (the expansions anyway) to see what interesting open world events can be like.
Still, I've never seen WoW more populated than it has been recently. I guess the masses must prefer a difficulty level which is much lower than I like anyway.
It's phrased as if this person just recently became a PC gamer but also used to play World of Warcraft a long time ago....?

This new WoW is clearly a game intended for 20-30-40-50 year old kids. People that got freezed in their youth. No matter they "work" and "pay bills" (I believe you call them liberals in the Us) they are essentially childs that want easy, safe and boring colourful vacuous and empty entertainment.
The plight that has burnt down hollywood blockbusters brought to gaming.
Oh so it's all about you and not the millions of people still playing it? Gtfo dude lol. What a shit attitude.
WOW like other MMOs or online games give me options. No two nights of content are the same unless I choose to do that. The last time I raided (in terms of progression) was in Mists of Pandaria. And I might in the new expansion or I might not. But its up to me to decide and I am simply happy that I have options to do the content I want.
