I don't get this argument that many in this thread, critical of WOW, constantly rehash. The game is what you put into it. If you want a lobby sim with small group content, you can have it. But like many online games, its up to you as the player to determine what you want. Sure I can raid and do dungeons, but I can also do quests, collect transmogs, run old content that I may have missed, level alts, and many other things.
WOW like other MMOs or online games give me options. No two nights of content are the same unless I choose to do that. The last time I raided (in terms of progression) was in Mists of Pandaria. And I might in the new expansion or I might not. But its up to me to decide and I am simply happy that I have options to do the content I want.
You dont get to even see other ppl except 3-4 others in big cities It has been instanced to hell doing quests alone is not an MMORPG

I gave it a shot this june after being away for 10 years it was nothing like the wow I used to know I made 6-7 chars and played through different xpacs through the time travelling thing they have In every zone I was alone Im not kidding and stormwind and the other big cities empty because instancing is overused

At 3:30am Monday morning there were 10 people in each city and 40 people in Valdrakken, the current expansion's capitol.
You can complain about instanced content if you want but there is no reason to outright lie.

Yep leveling in the last expansion was so ridiculously fast and before you know it, it was just the same daily quest grind and Dungeon/Raid queue simulator as the previous expansions.
This new expansion won't be any different.
Blizzard lost their Mojo long ago and the last couple expansions have been utterly boring garbage.
I am not going to be fooled again. Bringing back Chris Metzen was just a PR stunt and won't magically fix a long broken dev team.
I mean that's been largely true since vanilla. I made level 50 in vanilla. It wasn't some insurmountable task. It was harder than it is now I'm guessing (haven't played current expansion ever) but it's not like it was some achievement worthy of the evening news. "Angrakhan made level 50 on his warrior in WoW! Oooh Aaah. Details at 6!".
You know what you did at 50? Ground out dungeons and raids. Sounds like all they did was make the leveling process shorter. Does a long slog to max level really qualify as "mojo"? It sounds like time filler to get you to pay that monthly subscription a couple more times than maybe you would have otherwise to me.
I will just say this they overinstanced everything without a reason I can think since in2004 the game could run with a few 100s of players together with no problem With todays thech it should be a breeze
This weekend, at the end of an expansion, there were 50-100 players in Valdrakken. There were the same in Stomwind and Dalaran. When I did the echoes event, there were easily 100+ players in each of the zones. Heck, I ran old dungeons, and saw 10+ players at entrances of various old raid zones.
The game is not overly instances, its phasing tech that they use. I noticed this especially in the Dragon isles. I would turn in a quest or fly back to an area I was previously at and it would go from 1-2 players to many more. My point is there are tons of players in the world and people do not sit around and queue all day (except in pandaria Remix but thats another story and ends tomorrow).

Vanilla endgame was not just grind out dungeons and Raids, there were some interesting and lengthy unlock quest chains that were actually pretty fun to do.
I also miss other type of endgame quest lines that give you an Epic weapon or cloak, etc. Just to break up the endless dungeon threadmill.
The EverQuest2 dev team back in the early SOE days were pretty good at those.
It just gives people alternative endgame options to pursue other than just dungeons.
Blizzard has just pretty much given up on those long ago? Can't remember when you had that really long Epic cloak questline? That was the last time. Like 8 - 10 years ago?
Ever since then it has just turned into a very formulaic expansion after expansion threadmill, where the leveling experience with storyline has become shorter and shorter with each expansion and then all there is, is just daily quest grind and Dungeons/Raids. That's pretty much it.
Garrisons was the last exciting thing they tried and closest thing people ever got to player housing in WoW and they just abandoned it after that expac. Utter shame and waste, as they could have made something permanent out of it and do some cool additions to it with each new expansion. Like a later expansion with those Legendary leveling weapon with the Hunter Lodge. They could have incorporated that into your Garrison for example. It was the last time I had fun in WoW. /sigh

well then the only thing I can say is that there is a population surge because of the expansion because when I played in june there where very few ppl around in a server labeled as full
That's completely nonsense. I've played off and on all expansion and there has never been a significant drop in players in the cities and out in the world. It's been the most populated that I've ever seen wow, having played since the BC days.
Lol, so much mis-information. I can agree that wow has changed over the years. Some things i like, some i don't. I had not played in about 15 months but like with every expansion, i forked out the money and found myself playing the beta for TWW and even leveled up a few toons on remix. Game is still good folks, at least compared to all the trash games that have been released over the past 2 years, yes...it is good. And yes, it is easy. But, you can always push mythics for that skill high. Visuals i can live with. Mechanics are so solid still. Combat is fluid, even though it is tab target. People always hate the king, even myself at times.

The only thing I recall as far as lengthy unlock quest chains were the attunement quests to get into the raids (LBRS, UBRS, and later MC). Is that what you're talking about because it's not like there was some lengthy library of those. It was like 2 or 3 and you were done. Is that the "mojo" everyone is talking about?

Warbands and Delves will respect your time and reduce grinds to a great extent - which is the biggest feature i’ve been missing so far. The storytelling is much better now and you’re more often than not offered several paths to max level , which will be even more relevant now that transmogs and reputation/renown are shared between your characters. You can now also get loot for alts with the new Warband until bound bound equipment - which means you can fill roles with your mates and still not miss out for a character you wish to gear up.
Anything Ion Hazzikostas says isn't worth the ass it was shit out of.
And now the playerbase is busy giving Chris Metzen the GAMING DEVELOPER GOD treatment and expecting he'll make everything better because GAMING DEVELOPER GOD.
