Where we are in the stream of things is telling by the road map. Last Archtype (class) is added May 1st 2025, the Summoner. Nothing listed about the 64 subclasses anywhere in there. If I remember right, when all the classes are done is when they want to start rolling out the secondary classes.

A2 a big part is learning what they have designed that's fun and needed more add to the game and what the community does not like, so needs to be changed or removed.

So if IS has guessed right at everything, smooth sailing. That is never the case. Looking at what they want to implement in 7ish months. Is no small undertaking. Im interested is seeing how they pull this off. My guess is allot more staff needs to be hired. With all the lay offs, that should not be difficult.

I can't wait to test this stuff but if everything goes smoothly. My guess is about 2 more years. Some close to the project think it's only a year from launch.

This game is already 2 years behind schedule. The first alpha was just as bad as this last one. It would have offerred new things 2 years ago, not now though.

My Kickstarter package said Alpha 2 in 2018. That makes it 6 for me personally.

So, they're selling more access packages. Didn't they say there wouldn't be any more of that? Yes, We all knew that was bullshit, but still, here they are.

Where's the outrage from those people who seemingly defamed Ubisoft about bribing streamers?

My guess A2 will take longer then most expect. Been MMOing 20 years and I have stopped waiting for MMOs. I play games and follow the progress. I am way past getting upset MMOs don't launch when planed. My guess is the road map for A2 is gonna bite Steven in the but come May 1st lol and I'm ok with that lol

Ubisoft is a crap company with crap for ethics so AoC has a good role model to emulate...

This game has reached the «meh» stage for me. Just stopped believing in these «too-small-to-make-an-mmo» companies».
If someone ever announces an AAA mmo again, they better have a couple of hundred millions in their back pocket

Mind you some players will consider Star Citizen a MMO, give it three years and it will launch one of the two games promised.

Well, it's a bit of a stretch, but that Phase 3 looks quite convincing - provided that in May of 2025 this would look a bit more polished and packed with content, after some reviews I might even consider dropping one hunna to enjoy it throughout the Alpha and Betas, which would probably give us between 1-2 years, I guess?

Without a sub price, this looks like a fair deal, provided the bugs/placeholders will not be that frequent to ruin the experience.

To be fair, in the video they warn people not to buy into Alpha if your only doing it to be able to play the game. They just want folks to test and provide feedback. This does not bother me. I don't want to pay for Alpha, so i wont......

I am not a backer, but every video of gameplay footage they release, makes me more interested. Time will tell and i am glad the NDA is now lifted.

brilliant idea to lets hyper invested superfans test the game. i'm sure the feedback will be brutally honest

I've been on the fence about this one, but I think you're right. If the tests for A2 run frequently enough, then at least a year of access isn't a bad bargain. Does anyone know how the testing schedule is going - are the servers always up or do they just let people on one weekend a month?

Any info from current backers with access to the game would be great, thanks!

I will be well in to elder scrolls or gta6 before this game is done.

Here is the latest info on the test schedule

It starts off as weekly weekends with 24x7 access in May of 2025.

    Bingo.

As I posted in the Ashes forum on here, IMHO it was purely to drive FOMO and get people to buy their $250 package which they arbitrarily decided to end a few months back.. Now that they have harvested those, they magically re-open the store with packages less than half the price (and yes, missing some of the fluff of the $250 pledge)

Robert's sister?  I think you mean his wife Sandi right?

But she is on a whole other plane as far as marketing this stuff.

They also didnt say they would not bring them back, matter of fact, in the stream they hinted from the start there maybe a day they come back. By IS needs. Who does not need money? lol

Yep, got her confused with Marc Jacobs sister who is a funding master in her own right but also pales in comparison to Sandi.

So much crying about games that release too early because they should have taken their time to do it right... then more crying if games take their time to do it right... then more crying if they are having trouble funding and may close their doors... then more crying if they have a kickstarter to keep the doors open.

It's as if people started using news and updates as a justification to cry rather than a way to get a little information.

And nobody is forcing you to give money. Stop crying about it.

Every Kickstarter package, including the alpha 1 package said "delivery date dec 2018". So that was probably their original goal for alpha 1.

I never gave that date a second thought from the beginning. I honestly feel sorry for anyone who thought a small team with basically no game could have anything to play in just a year time and that includes Intrepid and Steven. I cant believe the experienced devs on his team like Jeff Bard let him believe it could be done in such a short time. I am not a dev and even I knew it was just impossible for a game as complex as Ashes. MAYBE if they were making angry birds it could be done.

It doesnt bother me that its taken a long time. There is other stuff to do. I see a path to which this game can be completed one day unlike Star Citizen which I think is honestly just not possible with our current tech to make it run properly in an MMO setting the way they want it to.

Ashes is just a more complex ArchAge. Nothing they are promising is that insane. Some things are a bit too complex for its own good like the augments and dual classes but it is doable imo.

Gamers can be fickle. You just can't please everyone. That's why I appreciate a developer that sticks mostly to their vision and keeps making their game.

My issue is the misleading statements and dishonestly (like FOMOing the ALPHA 2 stuff).  My take is that if you are a company or individual spending your OWN money you can delay, change, or do anything else you want to the game.  As soon as you start to take and spend OTHER people's money, you have an obligation to reasonably deliver what you promised them.

It stopped being other peoples money when they gave it to them willingly. Nobody is forced to do so but they do anyway.
