I find the paid early access option (which I refuse to pay for) really sucks the hype out of the new expansion for me. It's not a gesture of goodwill from Blizzard, that's for sure. It just feels like an unnecessary crash grab.
I don't know that it's so much a cash grab as a marketing technique to create FOMO and get people on the fence to go ahead and purchase. Cash grab has the connotation that there's not much of a game there and so they're going to grab as much cash as they can before the market figures out they've been sold a bill of goods. I don't think that's what's going on here.
To be clear I haven't preordered nor am I playing. I may dive into this expansion but I want to let the first couple of weeks of bugs and server issues die down. I also want to see some reviews of delves because that's all I'm really interested in at end game. I have no FOMO because I already know I will MO because I'm a casual player not a raider. Therefore I have nothing to fear. I can be patient.
All that to say I'm no Blizzard white knight or shill.

This is of course the classier way to do it. Blizzard's move here just feels needlessly greedy.

2. Got a 3 day weekend coming up for the holiday next week...so ill play it then.
never believed in spending money for early access games.
Patience is a virtue...lol
