What's the point playing this tbh, They aren't getting their license renewed once it expires since Embracer group owns Middle Earth Enterprises (who controls the Tolkien IP) has a now long term deal with Amazon and is making a LoTR MMORPG. Plus the game still runs like trash, they someone still can't get it to run right nearly 2 decades later.

um that's not what I've read. Where did you read that Embracer group is not re-upping their license?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
Given the track record of New World I wouldn't hold your breath on Amazon building a LotRO killer any time soon. After New World every MMO gamer is going to give any sort of MMO coming out of AGS a strong side eye. It will have an uphill battle regardless of the IP.

Because it will be like SWG/SWTOR. SWG stayed up until just before SWTOR released. LOTRO gives them free money and MMO's get cancelled more often than they get released.
AGS is still trying to figure out what their game should even be. That means it's like 5 years out if it releases at all?

There never was an 'Amazon' LotRO game before. There was a Leylou LotRO mmo (Leylou held the license) that Amazon was assisting with the Publishing rights and Yes, when Tencent bought Leylou, Tencent and Amazon couldn't come to terms so MEE pulled the license.
SINCE THEN, Amazon has gotten their own license to create a LotRO game.

A new deal has been made with Embracer Group so it's still in development.

You are misinformed and no one who plays gives two shits about your opinion.

Amazon LOTR is well an Amazon game and they don't have a very good track record. Its also in "early development" so we are talking 5-10 years out and they have no idea what type of game its going to be - https://www.ign.com/articles/amazon-games-still-seeking-lord-of-the-rings-mmo-christoph-hartmann-interview
The game no longer "runs like trash". They recently launched a 64-bit client on the new Legendary Server and the game runs great on those servers and they have been pretty popular. They are working to do testing and bring the 64-bit to live at some point. -https://massivelyop.com/2024/08/01/lotro-opens-new-legendary-servers-today-before-the-shadow-is-now-free-for-vips/
Anything else you would like to know about the game just ask.

One of the best first posts I have seen for quite a while.
