That's too bad, but not unexpected. When it launched I thought it was pretty fun. the counter shots, and traversal options were pretty fun, but the Joker and Ms. Freeze seasons just didn't add enough to the game to keep me interested.

Seemed like it was stuck in development hell for awhile and this was the best they could offer by the end of its development cycle. the Suicide Squad just isn't a big enough name on its own to get people interested, couple that with its live service monetization model and it was a recipe for disaster.

Hopefully enough of these live service games have failed so companies will stop investing into chasing this elusive "golden goose" which produces turds more than golden eggs.

Just think how things would have went if they had just made the next Arkham game and it was not a live service? I think that fans would have rallied behind such a bold move in this market of wallet intrusions.

Make another Arkham game, with no Batmobile, and I'll come back.

I got this game for free from having Amazon Prime awhile ago and I just played it recently. Even though I got it for free, I could only play past the tutorial missions to the point where we got our first skill point before I couldn't stand it any longer and uninstalled it. Redfall was better than this.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Even if all the other issues with this trash pile didn't exist, they did Batman fucking dirty, so I'm glad it flopped.

I see that the thread about Concord is, sadly, locked.
This is the same story - arrogant developers making games for "modern audience" that doesn't exist or is just a very, very vocal minority.
Game journos have sold their profession for a spot in a culture war, self importance, and lost almost every connection with an average player.

I am from Europe. I don't care for your culture wars, wokeness, or progressiveness. I am not a programmable millennial or Gen Z consumer. I want to play well made, good looking game without US political messages. I don't want to be educated by undereducated US game developers about history, human rights, or anything else. I want to kill time and have fun.

Both JL and Concord deserve their trash can.

I'm from the US and want to play well-made, good looking games without US political messages. It's obnoxious so many game developers feel the need to use their platform to lecture their customers on their perception of social justice initiatives. Just make an entertaining game. Oh well Space Marine 2 launches today and from everything I've seen it sticks to the game's lore and IP without injecting any of that crap in the game.

    LOL

Space Marine 2 has a ton of controversy.

"The report also suggests that internally the team is recognizing that these layoffs will impact the quality of the studio’s products going forward."

Impact the quality ... for the better? Cause worse than post covid launches it's quite difficult to achieve.
