nice paid advertisement, we litteraly know nothing about the game. and knowing korean games, they start good, until you reach the endgame.

"The combat felt somewhat reminiscent of games like Elden Ring, where players will be tasked with learning a specific move set of an enemy in order to counter it"

Uhh, yeah, not the game for me. My days of Dancing with the Stars are long over.

Yup, me too. It also tends to have people who have done it before making a "speed run" this time since they know what to do. People who don't know what to do will be left behind. ESO had this where people ran the same encounter 100 times to get the RNG drop they wanted. I guess they think this is "content".

This whole article is pretty nebulous, with stuff like "The team has begun testing combat" and "What we have yet to see is how exploration will be rewarded" and " While it’s a bit too early to determine where some of these classes may fall in terms of archetypes". It sounds like a lot of hype with little actual game to see yet.

If a game is good until you reach the end of it, how is that a bad thing?  Most games don't stay good for nearly that long.

It looks like a direct upgrade (graphically) of Black Desert Online. And actually I'd be pretty happy with that. I spent hundreds of hours enjoying black desert without ever really trying to engage the endgame grind.

Oh! Another Korean “MMORPG” featuring character models with tiny heads and large bodies with even larger breast’s. Pass.

I guess it depends on what you want out of a game. I play MMO's mostly to just live in their virtual world. I can play a game like LoTRO just to be there, and don't care about the end. I'll probably never finish it. I like City of Heroes because it is fun to be a superhero and play with others and get the bad guys. That game came out in 2004 and I still play it regularly. For games like this, there is no end for me, it's fun to just exist in their game world.

Other games are more story driven and linear. Once you get to the end, what do you do? Play the same story over?

Game looks fantastic but too much action for this old hag. I think a lot of of Korean games have done well and far from them dying after a few months. There is Lineage 1 and 2, Aion, Tera, Archeage, Black Desert, Maple Story, Lost Ark, Blade and Soul and Tree of Savior. I am sure I missed out a few.

I mean you can say the same for Western games too. However I enjoyed my time in Black Desert and Archeage.

I am with you on this. I like the combat presentation as I play MMORPGs camera views very close up. I just need to know more about the crafting side and the market.

For me, I see no downsides except what type of game it is. I'm going into it as "linear story driven mmorpg where you group with others to take down bosses.

If they add more then even better.

Would I like a full fledged world to live in? Sure! But I don't expect it and will enjoy the spectacle of the combat and art design.
