Babysteps. back in the Heavensward days, if classes were busted/screwed up, players had to deal with it until the next expansion. Over the years though, this small indie company has managed to address class issues/balances once every 6 months or so.
With the ability to play all classes on a single character, players tend to switch to another one (dps/healer in this case) until changes are made.
Although players call out for new classes every expansion, the game is pretty overloaded as it is.
Some of the classes have only limited differences, introduced purely to answer the new class launch expectation.
That's for sure. The two new jobs in Dawntrail are so convoluted and weird that it's easy to conclude that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. They have plenty of job names to work with but very little idea how to implement them in ways that are substantially unique.

wait for the next major patch most of the time. They have hotfixes but never for this type of stuff.
