The game was developed over eight years by a studio that only formed six years ago? What?

Quality control on the articles here has gone to trash in recent years.

Gamers seem ever more cautious about putting new multiplayer online games into their gaming cycle; the price must have been a big factor but it seems the quality was not top notch, combine those two together and that will not sail these days.

"Firewalk initially developed Concord in collaboration with its parent company, ProbablyMonsters, until the studio was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in April 2023"

    Source: Concord Wiki

I am guessing that the first 2 years were attributed to ProbablyMonsters until Concord split off from them and was later acquired by Sony .

This whole project felt like Sony spending money needlessly, and they aren't the only one's doing it, but you'd think with Sony's resources and experience they'd know better to invest in that genre.....

Who am i kidding, this is Sony i'm talking about.

Thats why we are getting more and more mobile games...They are only a fraction of the cost to make  and often the profits are greater.

It made one Concordillion dollars (unfortunately that converts to approximately $3.50.)

Haha yeah...I blame Candy Crush. Seriously though mobile gaming was the virus that effected the rest of the industry. I was so happy back in day with paid mobile games. Sometimes square does good with their premium titles. Even a cosmetic store can drain the fun out of it for me though, it is nice showing you put in the time to conquer something. I like to work and conquer the content not hand over $10 to look pretty and skip what makes a game fun for me. The journey.

A handful of mobile games make a ton of money, but most of them don't.  If you can make a mobile game cheaply, then so can your competitors, and so the market is flooded with cheaply-made mobile games, making it hard for yours to get attention.

I am sorry for trying to take advantage of you and your family with the botched cash grab. Until next time, everyone.
Are you one of the Concord character artists/activists that are now crying that they're going to leave gaming now?

Or just some scrub with a shitty link?

It's almost like if you make a game that nobody asked for, in a genre that has been over-saturated to death, in a style that looks like an uglier Guardians of the Galaxy, with gameplay that slows down a genre that is meant to be fast, and then put all of this with a neat $40 bow on top of it; people will reject your game. Wild concept.

Who knew that using as your big selling point "Well...our game is inclusive!" isn't enough for people to spend $40 bucks on a worse version of Overwatch

It isn't. The problem is when nobody wants that made. A game not asked for can be popular if it is something people didn't know they wanted until it was provided. That's how new gaming genres are born.

This is what you get ( and deserve ) when you mix an agenda ( woke ) with entertainment ( games, movies, music and so forth ).

The vocal minority is just vocal but still a minority that can't sustain anything but their own echo.

And when the lack of creativity hits the fan, they start blaming everything else but themself.

Gah, we lose posters every time this damn game gets a new thread.

    Just let it die already.
