Game will continue to fade into obscurity until if and when they do a full UI overhaul.

Most of that was ie; the corp overlords are not sinking enough money into the game to actually make it worthwhile and are just milking as much as they can out of this plate of yesteryears spaghetti code before it becomes truly unplayable...

Not sure about “milking “ but clearly they need more resources.

I think what makes me sad is that LOTRO is excellent for what it is; however, the vertical progression scheme of reaching a level, gearing up, leveling out of your gear, gearing up again - being repeated for 100+ levels is no longer appealing.

Most quests aren't anymore complicated than Go Kill 10 Wolves, it is a good story teller, but it gets to be the same pretty fast.

I like survival/crafting just way too much now.

For me the story behind "Go Kill 10 Wolves" will always beat the need in a survival MMO to "Go Chop 10 Logs" every time.

The quests really wore me out, especailly as someone that likes to play alts. My first character was a Minstrel and it was very painful to play. Extremely slow leveling and combat took forever. I think my highest character was 38? I just couldnt keep going. I've tried to go back t othe game a few times but it just ends the same way, especially with the f2p gold cap where you can have hardly anything.

    Play a Beoring.
The first 50-60 levels of that are stupid OP.

I could do 3 man instances solo.

I've made it my main game at the moment, on a new legendary server.

It's terribly alt unfriendly though, most likely to get people to spend money on convenience items to reduce the grind.

The monetization and nickle and diming is massive.  But my guess is they have a smaller dev team and population than SWTOR, yet they manage to put out a fair bit more content than SWTOR.

Major revamps of the game simply wouldn't bring in enough new revenue to justify it.  It's a freaking old game.  It is what it is at this point.

I wish LOTRO went with a PvP system where you'd enter the PvP zone and that would park your character and load up your PvP 'toon which looks like your PvE character but advances in the PvP zone on its own.

I'd want this so people could PvP at level 10 instead of needing to grind out the entire game to get there.
