Ok. Didn't want to go there but lets list some "subjective" things:
-You cant control your companions at all and you can only command 3 things.
-Camera doesn't move towards were your character is aiming/moving and doesn't zoom/pan. Most combat is outdoors because they can't make it indoors because their camera is bad.
-Hit boxes are ridiculous. You hit the guy even if your slash is inches away or 2 bodies away. Combat is convoluted (large area strokes, big swings, huge gap closers) to cover this up.
-3 quickbar skills.
-Skills are just smash button when CD is off.
When your game is an action RPG, with not much RPG in it (you cant control other characters, nor use tactics, nor select their skills/stats/weapons combat style nor even level them up) and its action (1 character only) part is at the same level to combat in Genshin impact your game is OBJECTIVELY bad.
Everything that it's related to combat action, is toned-down, missing or worse than in DA:I and that game was already average in action combat back in its day.
There are a few videos out there that compare DA:I models, environments and other items to this so called DA game and its pretty insane how much better DA:I looks in almost every example, the character models especially.
By all means please list them. Because, from what I see, this is just all subjective. Sure, I'm not thrilled with the art design but that doesn't mean that it won't be a good or great game.
Someone not liking the look of a game is important, don't get me wrong, but for every person who hates the way something looks you'll find others who LOVE the way that it looks.
This game look excellent. It's absolutely not my taste but it's clear they put a lot of work into the aesthetic.
This is a good video...
It is a good video and it's exactly what I was talking about. His issues are that the visual style as well as how interactive components are portrayed in the world, are not his style. Additionally, the change in combat isn't his preference.
Those are all subjective. There are people who prefer more stylized than not and there are people who prefer more action than not.
Essentially, if one is wedded to the original Dragon Age, its look and its combat then they are going to hate this game.
But someone who likes a wider range of styles or who prefers action combat might think this is amazing.
For a die hard Dragon Age fan this might not be all that but it does look like they are going for a wider audience. Sometimes that backfires but sometimes there's huge success.
As for me, I prefer the look of the first game and in general prefer more gritty/realistic games. However, I can adapt to the look. His comments about puzzles are spot on if one likes puzzles. But guess what? A LOT of people don't like puzzles or only want them to be minor blips in game play.
The first game I really liked, I enjoyed the second game though I had a lot of criticisms, I couldn't get through the 3rd game but I think I'll try to ignore most of the "mmo" elements and push through and hopefully I can get through the dull parts. I'll give this one a chance as well.
Its not just his style they are not Dragon Age. In my opinion they are clearly trying to push an agenda with this game and that is a big pass for me. At some point developers are going to learn there is no "modern audience" there are gamers and we just want games of old that don't cater to the "modern audience" and destroy IPs we grew up with. Sure, include some of your more 'modern audience' stuff but don't ruin the entire game in the process.
A gaming buddy posted another video about this game, never seen this youtuber before but I am guessing most on here would not appreciate the video lol. The video did have some good points but he doesn't hold back and is defiantly not politically correct.
Extremely cringe, pathetic, and unhinged. I'm glad you people are making yourselves culturally irrelevant by your inability to enjoy anything, including most of the best games ever made.

Seems a little aggressive for stating facts.
"You People" really? Well, maybe you need to go recruit more "your people" who are apparently "cultured" so some of "the best games ever made" don't fail going forward.
What recently released games are successful right now? Space Marine 2 Black Myth: Wukong
What games recently crashed and burned and one didn't stay open for a week?
Concord Forspoken Star Wars Outlaws, I mean Ubisoft is about to go bankrupt from these decisions
People like me are clearly not making ourselves "culturally irrelevant". In gaming it clear what games fail and what games don't.
I could list dozens of LARGE corporations that have recently removed policies and departments you clearly stand for but that doesn't belong here.
You can be rude and angry all you want, it won't change the facts.

Well, that's subjective as well.
I don't think they are "pushing" an agenda. I do think they are making a nod towards different types of people. So what? Especially since they probably have quite an array of different types of people who work for them. It's no more an agenda than adding people who have much better tans than I. Doesn't have to be anything more than knowing they are there.
There are "gamers" who don't want the games of old. So your mileage may vary.
Destroy IP's we've grown up with? Go talk with the Fallout players who were horrified with what Bethesda did with their first fallout game. Even though there are huge fans of what they've done with those games. For the most part.
Speaking of Bethesda, they sure changed their Elder Scrolls games from the start. There are people who think anything later than Daggerfall is "shite"
What about the Baldur's Gate die hard fans? They decried what Laramie did with Baldur's gate 3 but it sure has its fans as well as some awards.
Also, there's "not politically correct" which points fingers at everyone and laughs at everyone and "hateful" which hones in on particular people and is just ... hateful.
In any case, best not post it here as we don't want you to get banned.

I think that's a bit of an overreaction. We'll have to wait and see if the camera is really bad and, if indeed, most of the game is outside because of it. We've only seen a small amount of the game so it's too early to tell what is going on with the camera. The camera not moving towards where you are going might be a setting as I've played some games (Neverwinter Nights if I remember correctly) that had various camera settings.
-Hit boxes are ridiculous. You hit the guy even if your slash is inches away or 2 bodies away. Combat is convoluted (large area strokes, big swings, huge gap closers) to cover this up.
-3 quickbar skills.
It's my understanding that the 3 "skills" then open up other possibilities. I can't comment on hit boxes as it looked fine.
-Skills are just smash button when CD is off.

400lbs manchild? lmao!! So tolerant of you.
There are no anti-woke games lol what is wrong with you. There are games that don't push agendas and ruin IPs and there are games like this Dragon Age, Concord and Star wars outlaws. That is just how it is deal with it.
Baldur's Gate 3 wasn't woke, like I said before they didn't ruin the IP by pushing an agenda they allowed items the 'modern audience' would enjoy without destroying the game, that's a great thing.
Helldivers 2? What are you talking about? That game isn't work or Palworld? Come on now.
At least this site has an ignore button.
I wish you the best, but man you need to take a deep breath and not talk about others being cringe when you go off like this. Kind of weird to be honest.

Well at least I found out why this site doesn't get a lot of traction. This is the type of replies and attacks "legendary" posters are allowed to make because they disagree with you.
Very cool. Good thing there is an ignore most interactions have been very nice even when we have disagreed.
Well, we'll find out in October if this game is worth folks time- personally I got Silent Hill 2 Remake and Throne & Liberty on my October docket, and perhaps the new Sword Art Online game that was developed by Studio Dimps.

I can't agree at all Sovrath, all this is concerning, it does not mean the game is bad but it also does not point to good.
We had some posters banned only a couple of weeks ago on here and that is as annoying as hell and I would presume I am not the only one that is cheesed off when that happens.
so this is going to be another game that pushes the "WOKE" agenda?
If it is I will pre order, maybe I will buy 100 of them even if I never load it on my comp

I don't want to lose my time debunking dumb statements but this one is just painful:
Aren't all skills "smash button" when the cool down is off (?)
Imagine, just for the shake of sanity, that you have a game where things like resistances exist. The enemy has used a skill that prevents getting stunned for 10 seconds.
Imagine that you have like 8 (too many to handle nowadays?) skills. One has come of CD but it is a skill that stuns target. Or used a stone skin that reduces blunt damage by 80%. Or a protect evil spell that prevents 50% nature magic.
Yes. You are pressing a button to use those skills. Is not "smash button" gameplay.
This is something RPG games with real time combat more than 20 years (NWN) old hadimbedded in them with a pletora of skills, mechanics, etc.
This game has the same action combat depth as Genshin impact. Dont effing try to gaslight us dude. Harder difficulties only make the combats last longer, suffer more damage, and having you to disengange more. Mechanics wise is still: CD off smash. He attacking roll. CD off smash. He attackign roll. In normal you do it 3 times (you dont even need to roll 80% of the times just soak and smash) per encounter. In hard you do it 6 times (and can only soak 3 no rolls).
The combat seen in the gameplays is streets of rage level combat.
Now you could say. We have sacrificed that aspect of our game (multi control, companions managing, team composition, multiple character bulding, skill building, inmersive, depth tactical combat) for the shake of a great XXXX. For example a great combat system. Limiting the gameplay to a single character, single actions without 3rd party interactions (other charecters doing things requires a more complex combat system), single target for AI. Freeing time and resources you would have spent in adding all other stuff in exchange of making it in depth, tactical, skill based... no.
But yeah this game has sacrificed what is OBJECTIVELY good features (that previous installments of the game had already in them and if this game had would make it a way better game) in exchange of ..... ¿A character creator you will use for 1 hour once and never again? ¿A graphics design worse than games 6-8 years old? ¿Dialog choices that have no effects and don't even say what you selected? ¿Voice acting?
This game is a worse version of DA:I in almost everything that common gamers would like to see in their RPG games.
so this is going to be another game that pushes the "WOKE" agenda?
If it is I will pre order, maybe I will buy 100 of them even if I never load it on my comp
the worlds changing people, just like it has since the day it formed into a rocky ball and no amount of trying will stop the change...fighting the world will end up in defeat everytime, change is a constant...roll with it or get run over
Well your 100 copies might get it up to # 48 on steam top sellers so that's cool.
You are correct the world is changing and the majority of people are pushing back on this stuff. Like ubisoft, bioware will most likely be done after this game because of the choices they made.
It appears some of you are extremely upset cause you thought people would bow down and just accept destroying all types of media (not going to discuss destroying stuff outside games/media) and it's clear pushing this stuff in media doesn't work. Sony lost $400MILLION on Comcord. Bioware is looking to lose $100s of millions on this DA game. Disney lost $100s of millions on Acolyte, people don't want this forced agenda. Companies have been losing money for years everytime they try. And it's why some of you get so upset when people start to vocally stand against it.
Well your 100 copies might get it up to # 48 on steam top sellers so that's cool.
You are correct the world is changing and the majority of people are pushing back on this stuff. Like ubisoft, bioware will most likely be done after this game because of the choices they made.

I have concerns for "Bioware" myself, but who is left of the original team? I think EA may close them down if DAtV does not come good and that will be down to EA's mismanagement. An illustration that the giants in gaming think it is more important to close down competition than buy into a success story.
so this is going to be another game that pushes the "WOKE" agenda?
If it is I will pre order, maybe I will buy 100 of them even if I never load it on my comp
the worlds changing people, just like it has since the day it formed into a rocky ball and no amount of trying will stop the change...fighting the world will end up in defeat everytime, change is a constant...roll with it or get run over

No a game succeeds on its merits. Look at Baldur's Gate 3. It has sex with a bear. It did extremely well. By your arguments people should have shunned it , they did not and thank heavens people decided the quality was more important than other considerations. In fact Bioware had same sex romances in Dragon Age 1 in 2009.
Cyberpunk 2077 where you can attach a penis to a female body should have been sunk but what upset people were the bugs not the choices offered.
So your theory holds no water.
People choose games based on merits well at least intelligent people do that. I choose a game not on its agenda or lack of it but I look at the game and its gameplay and systems. The rest of it has no bearing on my choices.
Don't pick the crap games to advance your points. Those are easy. Tell me why games like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3 , Persona 3 where you shoot yourself in the head or Dragon Age 1 succeeded.

As I stated before games like Cyberpunk and BG3 did NOT create the entire game to cater to their own personal agenda that alienated 95% of their audience. This DA, Concord and other games clearly do that and why they fail.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding "modern audience " components to a game we've had same sex romances for a long time now. The issue is when the entire game resolved around their person agenda.
Ok. Didn't want to go there but lets list some "subjective" things:
-You cant control your companions at all and you can only command 3 things.
Huge plus for me and is a step in the right direction. "For me."
-Camera doesn't move towards were your character is aiming/moving and doesn't zoom/pan. Most combat is outdoors because they can't make it indoors because their camera is bad.
Aren't all skills "smash button" when the cool down is off (?)
When your game is an action RPG, with not much RPG in it (you cant control other characters, nor use tactics, nor select their skills/stats/weapons combat style nor even level them up) and its action (1 character only) part is at the same level to combat in Genshin impact your game is OBJECTIVELY bad.
Not controlling characters has nothing to do with a game being a role playing game. As long as you can sculpt your own character into "playing a role" then you're good. Heck, if I was to make a party based role playing game I would not allow the players to touch their party. I'd want their party to have their own agenda, demand a cut of the goods, and dress themselves. I see no issue.
Everything that it's related to combat action, is toned-down, missing or worse than in DA:I and that game was already average in action combat back in its day.
I can't agree at all Sovrath, all this is concerning, it does not mean the game is bad but it also does not point to good.
It's good from where I sit. I'd be more interested in the evolution of npc's where they are their own people from within a framework that defines their character. I'd love it if I went into a dungeon and had npcs's ask/demand certain things. Or that some npc companion decided to leave the party on their own volition to do something else and I would have to find someone else to travel with me.
I've never been interested in controlling characters in the party or "dressing them."
I don't care about having oodles of skills. Though I prefer action combat to tab target anyway.

This game is a worse version of DA:I in almost everything that common gamers would like to see in their RPG games.
wasn't trying to gaslight you (what's wrong with you?) and the (?) was an actual question as I had no idea what the "f" you were talking about.

Dragon Age Is long dead, Like the Bioware of old. That made beautiful games, with compelling stories in a magical world that did not have political topics, themes and tropes from our world.
Gaming, like fantasy/Scifi novels have always been a escape from our real world problems. Dragging that crap into them, especially when they can be explained away by magic or technology we do not possess is nothing more than virtual signaling.
No this game isn't the next concord no matter how much I wish it was, it will be the next "Star Wars Acolytes" or for gaming comparison, It will be the next "Suicide Squad" or " Star Wars Outlaws" a game designed by Activist for Activist.

"You People" really? Well, maybe you need to go recruit more "your people" who are apparently "cultured" so some of "the best games ever made" don't fail going forward.
What recently released games are successful right now?
Space Marine 2
Black Myth: Wukong
What games recently crashed and burned and one didn't stay open for a week?
Concord
Forspoken
Star Wars Outlaws, I mean Ubisoft is about to go bankrupt from these decisions
People like me are clearly not making ourselves "culturally irrelevant". In gaming it clear what games fail and what games don't.
I could list dozens of LARGE corporations that have recently removed policies and departments you clearly stand for but that doesn't belong here.
You can be rude and angry all you want, it won't change the facts.
Have a nice day.

You are officially not allowed to play Baldur's Gate 3. You know, last year's GotY. Or Hades. Or Mass Effect. Or this year's Helldivers 2 or Palworld. Or any other of literally THOUSANDS of games better than your 8/10 monkey Souls-like that no one will be talking about next year.
The facts don't care about your feelings, and you can't name 5 actual anti-woke games that have sold better than asbestos flavored Doritos. I don't just mean neutral games like Black Myth Wukong with "no" political messaging. Games that support your increasingly irrelevant mindset.

Very cool. Good thing there is an ignore most interactions have been very nice even when we have disagreed.
