My guess is BDO will win that fight if there is one.

So amazon is launching throne and liberty and new world near the same time? Seems counter-productive

There's gonna be a HUGE rush at first till the streamers all bugger off if the big event planned for tomorrow is a success.

They really don't seem to be that much alike at all, at least at a cursory glance.

I realize T&L is adding more and more PvE activities, but at it's core, the premier content is really the castle siege warfare, which is really aimed at guilds. BDO doesn't seem to have the same focus at all.

Yes this the event will have streamers leading guilds in a big siege using max lvl characters etc.

But it’s still different from Black Desert. It looks like a spiritual successor to Lineage 3 with more pve elements and a ridiculous (my opinion) animal morphing component.  :|

I've been playing TnL since last December on a Korean server Kazar. The game has way more PVE content than PVP content, it has been like this from the start.

If anything, they have been adding more PVP content since Korean release. The game is different from BDO, combat and most content.

Yes I wasn't saying it was like bdo at all. I was only saying do not expect lineage 3, its not that either.

I would have given it a chance if the combat wasn't still complete garbage. Having played the beta I didn't have any fun at all + the fact that everyone is a shapeshiftung druid is weird to say the least. I would be very surprised if this is going to have any success outside of the usuall first-month-hype.

Ooooo that’s a very good point and well said.

”Yes!” No one should expect Lineage 3 other than sieges.

Not sure why people have such an issue with the travel morphs, you get used it quickly plus they have some really badass ones, and they have some neat features such as letting you not aggro mobs, or ambush players because it doesn't show your name/tags while shifted.

As for the game, definitely interested in checking it out the official launch, they have been adding tons of content both PvE and PvP on KR which will trickle over to Global, the game runs smooth and the combat style is pretty fun. However I am expecting alot of the PvP andies to get upset when they realize its not Open World PvP where they can go gank and drive off the player base, its more of a structured and faction/guild focused warfare. While it seems to advertise as a mainly PvP game there is an absolute ton of PvE stuff that you will also need to do, and you can choose not to ever PvP if you want.

The Devs already have a roadmap up for into Q1 2025 and they are adding tons of PvP and PvE content including 12 PvE Raids, Nebula Island which will be a full open PvP zone, 6v6 Arenas, new bosses, plenty of other stuff, but this atleast shows promise of Devs who are constantly creating sizeable content and the game growing, which isnt something we've been seeing in more modern MMOs lately.

Mess with the best, Die like the rest

There are plenty of players leaving the KR servers to join their own regional servers with the global release but I'm not surprised you didn't know that.

Coming from WoW, I much prefer TL over FFXIV. I cannot stand the obnoxious way they implemented the global cooldown in FFXIV. Aion's terrible dependence on graphics and clunky movement system is still an NCSoft dead giveaway in TL but honestly I'd rather deal with TL negatives than the current WoW negatives. Activeshit and now Microshit are running Blizzard into the ground more than Blizzard did themselves so TL is a breath of fresh air even if it's from the hellhole that is NCSoft. Amazon Games has made a few changes but we'll see if they have much of any pull down the line with how badly NCSoft screws up content for the global audiences.

I'm not sure why you think shapeshifting is weird. It's literally just a graphical difference from "mounts" in other games like WoW. The shapeshifting is just a mode of transportation. It has nothing to do with the weapons itself which replaces classes.

It's definitely not all roses and pixies for TL but I'm having fun so that's all I care about in the end.

The day someone designs the perfect MMO for me, is the day I'll also admit it'll be financially unsuccessful, and born DOA, because I'll probably be the only player.

TnL intrigues me. Elements look intriguing and fun, and there are some parts that I don't appreciate. Travel morphs are definitely one of those, although I do appreciate it makes travel easier, and that I don't need to hit different levels to collect different mounts either. I played Lineage and L2, and while the root of this may have started there, it's pretty obvious that it has become it's own entity.

Unlike others, I think TnL actually has an audience, and it may be more of a niche game in a few months, but there are an awful lot of people who really do enjoy the large scale PvP games that are more Guild versus Guild, and so on, and if you are honest about it, there isn't a whole lot out there that scratches that itch, especially since one of the few that did, New World, has elected to really focus on what they believe the console market demands. Can't see TnL being a runaway hit, or a colossal failure, but I can see it lasting.

I understand the P2W arguments and yeah, it's P2W, the rock, scissors, paper (at least it feels like that's how it's designed) style of combat design, should mean that even the biggest whale can be killed by a F2P player means it's not as bad as it could be. (And yes, I fully expect NCSoft to add even more P2W elements down the road.)

For me, for a F2P game, definitely something I'll take a look at, spend some time with and see how much I like it. It's not going to cost me anything but some free time to go that far. If I can't stand the gap between F2P and P2W, then that's something else entirely, but going in, without a ton of expectations is kind of nice. Either I'll like it, or I won't. No preconceived notions that will either make or break the game for me at launch.

That's unlike the many years and many games I followed, that were always set to disappoint when developers made changed, added or eliminated potential features. Somehow, for me at least, not following things as closely from far out, is allowing me to judge games on what they are when I play them, not based on what I wanted them to be.
