I just couldn't bring myself to pay for a F2P game, the only I saw that your actually paying for was to play early since all the other items will almost certainty be replaced. I might spend money later on though for the credits, but the 100 dollar preorder package gives far to little compared to how much you will be able to buy once it's released.
Early Access players can't transfer to Full Launch servers when the game releases on Oct 1st. The restriction will be lifted at a later date. So you have to create a new character even as an EA player if you want to join the Full Launch servers on Oct 1st.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself

In other words, EA is just to help fun the game, not to give you an actual taste of it.

How do you not get a taste of it?
I'm not a fan of the pay for early access, but it's not exactly a new thing, and are you actually shocked that a company would do something that would bring revenue? I mean, you didn't think it was a charity launch, did you?
Regular players can create characters on the EA server, it's just EA players can't move off for the time being. Sounds like a decent idea to keep the people who want to play EA together, at least for awhile.
Besides, I suspect that you'll see server consolidation at some relatively near point, so that servers feel populated for the players. Again, not a new thing.
So how is that preventing someone from playing the game and seeing what it's like?
Then I can try it, see if I like it, and if I want to invest some cash, then I'm doing it for things that I want. Paying to play a few days early doesn't feel like enough of a benefit for me, since I know I won't have all that much time to play for the next few days. But hey..that's me.
Some of the streams I've seen actually look decent. I want the journey to be enjoyable, and worth my time, but I also want the end game, where I'm sure I'll spend more time to appeal, and to last. Interested to see how the GvG style PvP comes together, but community should be interesting. Just hoping I find one that makes it worth it.
I have no desire to pay for early access to any game, let alone a free to play one. What's the point? I'd rather them work out the bugs and performance issues first which is typical of most games rather than pay to be a beta tester for them.
40 bucks for 5 days seems steep. you only get a some skins for shapeshift stuff. nah, i aint paying that and I pay for star citizen

I’m playing on console (Xbox). There’s some bugs with the menus that are really annoying. (You can’t navigate to some areas of the menus)
You need to restart the game but eventually the menus bug again so you need to rinse and repeat.
Game isn’t much different than you’d expect…but hey, it’s a new mmo and it’s the start of a weekend, so why not give it a go?
Do you think you will be at disadvantage vs pc players?

I don’t think so. I think the game is well balanced between pc and console. I bought the pc version too, but it’s been nice playing an mmo from my couch.
The only thing I miss out on with console is chat. Which I don’t care much about.

40 bucks for EA is ridiculous....It shows that there is no amount that gamers wont pay if they think they are getting ahead of others. FOMO is greater than ever in gaming, no matter how many games we have available to play.

Not sure if this is true but didn't World of Warcraft charge more for one of their latest expansions?

Probably will get a decent amount of fun out of this one.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
