This could very well go wrong. Their are developers who would just keep tinkering, using money, until it was "just right." But then might not sell enough copies to justify the funding.

    Some oversight but be had.

Yeah it boils down to risk and reward like any publisher. My guess is that the reason for the hands off approach is they're probably not going to invest as much money as a more hands on publisher would. Either that or they're going to cherry pick gems in the rough that just need to get across the finish line in exchange for a 50% cut in the profits. If not those strategies then I suppose they could be looking to fail in a spectacular fashion. The gaming industry gives plenty of opportunity to do that!

I think cherry-picking is exactly their strategy.

Even though they are mostly hands-off, I would still expect them to create and enforce milestones and deadlines. I can imagine a lot of indie games stall out when they get to the parts that Poncle is providing support for, so as long as they are reasonably good as spotting the earnest devs who really do want to get to market, it might work out.

I'm glad people liked the game, but I could never get into it.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

Sometimes good enough really is good enough.
