@Raph Has seen fit to grant me access to his playtests.  They will run tonight and Saturday.   It's Halloween so not 100% sure I will be on tonight but I will do my best.

We are allowed to post screenshots and give verbal descriptions so....

If folks have specific requests for me to test or screenshot please post below and I will be happy to try and get it done for you.

    The gods of All Hallow's Eve have seen fit to bless me as well and I am excited to be a tester. I have tested MMO's back to SWG so I am excited to be involved with one again. I too am happy to answer questions via my personal experience but for me, and having kids, most likely it will not be tonight.

    So far so good.  The music kind of made me think of The Last Starfighter which is a really good thing!  No it's not the same, but it's what jumped into my head once it loaded up.  Now I just have to wait 5 hours to play it...

    Fooling around with my "Ranger Tool" I set a tree on fire.

    Then it looks like some unexpected PvP as I could set environment on fire which then set players on fire.  The person in the second photo is trying to replicate it but seems to be targeting a player directly and it's not working...

    So now more people have picked up on the "indirect PvP" I started.  Others are now trying to burn each other to death.  Emergent Gameplay!



    Servers being rebooted now.  They say it should only take 3 minutes. 

    Yes, we had a bunch of lag.

    My time in the playtest told me they are on to something here for a certain kind of player, not sure I am that kind of player tbh.
     It has a long way to go for sure

    I'm more into the simulation type approach they are going with, world more dynamic, similar to everquest next pitch which was dedkill by evil Daybreak.

    You can use the tools to burn trees, freeze terrain... had to use it to freeze lava so we could get to a POI.   They turned of the ability to modify terrain beyond that for this test but I think it will be in Saturday.

    I logged off.  Did not see Desert.  I saw forest, mountains, icy, lava, water... maybe there was desert but I didn't see it.

    Not on this planet. It's a test map, it doesn't have every sort of biome on it.

    I had fun and I got to experience some of that emergent PVP as I died on login. :) Someone cooked me like the goose at Grandma's on Christmas.

    I enjoyed doing my iron man thing too and Seeing the biomes. Loved the ice/snow!

    I wonder if I can freeze the lava. I will have to try this next time. Also, I kept putting out trees that were on fire by freezing them. Sorry folks, too much Smokey the Bear in me growing up. :)

    Yes you can freeze the lava Elidien.  It's how you can get some of the discovery nodes. And yes it was me burning you until I saw your name :)

    No worries, it saved me the trouble of testing the tools on others since I already knew that it would cook someone. :)

    I did the Ironman thing with the lava to get the nodes. Now I feel stupid.

    Yeah I didn't do it too long so as not to annoy people.  More of just a few minutes to show what can happen when players have tools and then to see if it would in fact work under a respawner... LOL

    We did warn all the early testers that we have not put in any of the mechanisms for PvP protection for environmental stuff yet. :smiley:

    Nah @Slapshot1188 just wanted to cook me. Probably some leftover forum disagreement. :) Funny part is as I spawned in, all I see is light and then I realize I am on fire. I see someone extending a beam of fire at me and I was wondering if A - this is normal and expected; B - its a bug; c - something is killing me and they are trying to help me; d - they are killing me. Once I died and respawned I ran away. I give the hilarity and confusion a 9/10.
