    98% positive reviews on Steam.

How is this possible without a Kickstarter, 15 years of development, and tons of forum drama?

    Pretty easy.

    1. Get your 6 year old sister to sit down and draw cats, fish, and trees.
    2. Make a fishing/social game with said assets.
    3. Charge $5 for the game.
    4. Profit.

Now don't gloss over #2 above. Capturing that magical "fun" game loop is easier said than done. But there's nothing going on technically here that requires a big team or any coding sophistication at all.

I wish this game all the success. Some times simple is better.

There was a time when a online game called Oz World Online was popular for the same reasons; though mostly only in South East Asia.

I miss that game, you just fish all day and chat with people.

This game distils so much of what is wrong with todays gaming into a fishy homebrew.

Lotta people really like this game. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. Easy to play, clear objective, and the gameplay isn't super complex so you can actually chat with the other players and socialize.

I was going to say... they need murder hobos to roll in, kill the people who are fishing, and leave dismembered body parts strewn about the landscape.

Otherwise, these people aren't really having fun.
