Couple that with the dated animations and uninspired class/skill systems, and I really can't find a reason anyone would play this particular MMO instead of any of the MANY similar games in the already overaaturated fantasy genre.
Not to mention the full loot open PvP...
I spent a lot of time watching actual player streams over the last few weeks and honestly liked what I saw. My biggest issue is trying to decide how much of the game is really compete. I don’t trust Stephen’s word. It concerns me that it’s still missing classes, is limited to low level, and a very small area of the supposed game world. But as far as gameplay, I think it looked pretty good.
I keep going back and forth on it. One of my longtime gaming friends is going in tonight so I’m going to wait and see what he says. If we took the developer out of the equation I would have already bought it.

Now I get it, they could be streaming from their Dev environment to show off recent changes that have not made it to QA, UAT or pre-production environments. (Star Citizen often does this, same where I worked in fact)
But if this is the case they should tell their testers and share a tentative date on when said major changes might be available for public testing.

IS has been clear they are building the structor of Ashes in the Riverlands that we are testing now. Once they have the structure done, they will apply it to the other areas of the game. This is a common development process. Once the River Lands are done, theoretically, the other areas will just need to attach its content to that structure they've applied from what they've done with Riverlands.
That being said. All of Ashes that Steven wants to launch with is bigger then in square kilometers is bigger then all of WoW and it's expansions. I just don't see that happening in the time line set out.
Yet in both of those games succeeding new areas being created more quickly really hasn't played out yet despite both being in development even longer than Ashes.
Maybe the third time will be a charm, eh?

this is actually the majority of feedback i've seen since the start of the alpha , needs a lot of work but the movement(not animations they okaish) the movement and feel itself feel great so is the combat and its very fun and u feel every skill you get
Same was said about New World yet...
Commission board is ment to point you to side quests that triggers events. None of that is working. Main quest lines are not fun as well. Pointers don't always send you in the right direction. And...
It's the most fun I have had in an MMO in a very long time. Teaming happens organically. People just invite people to get harder content done. There is a good balance of DPS, tanks and support. Exploring as a team is just fun. The classes also synergize really well.
It's been said of games that remain commercially viable a decade after they were so declared. People don't use the word dead in relation to games with precision.
