    They actually do different things. Different areas of control.

    In other news, I'm happy for the idea of Aion 2 but I hope they put 'some' pvp in it.

    One CEO is the founder of NCsoft, so he's not going anywhere.

    The other CEO was hired a month ago to help with the restructuring.

    Yep and you know what I bet that original CEO can do the restructuring. You don't need some C level executive for that. If it's just a matter of the job is too big for one person hire a consultant or 2. These people exist.

    I disagree.

    The game industry is more than leveling and gear and lore and classless or classes.

    looking at the health of a company shows us where they are taking games and whether or not the can continue making them.

    When you run ncsoft you can implement all the decisions you want.  ;)

    K, just saying I've been through several restructurings in my day for some pretty big companies and never once did any of them hire a 2nd CEO in the process. What I find most odd is you guys all jumping on me in this thread like I'm an idiot. How many 2 CEO companies have you guys worked for I wonder? My guess is not many.  That being said yes, NCSoft can do what they want. I guess the fact their first inclination when they're in financial trouble is to hire a 2nd CEO explains why they got in financial trouble in the first place.

    no one is “jumping on you.” Just giving you a light “ribbing.  :p

    But it’s not like they don’t have experience and the realization of two CEO’s is a face palm moment.

    And remember, this is a Korean company. They are very mercenary when it comes to cutting their losses.

    Instead of thinking about it as two CEO’s make one a CEO and the other a CGO. Chief Games Officer.

    These two guys concentrate on different things. I suspect the founder decided he wanted to maintain control over various things and wanted to help drive games development but they needed someone with the same level of experience and authority to handle business matters not having to do with game development.

    Big disclaimer because my knowledge comes from watching Korean dramas. They have a lot of rules in their companies that require CEO approvals and it is often not feasible for restructuring to keep going back to the one CEO for permission and approval so it might be solely for expediency that they have 2 CEOs.

    I'm of the mind that Aion 1 wasn't any good, and NCSoft is not better at making games now than they were then.

    Aion was excellent for a theme park MMORPG cast in the world of Warcraft style.

    At least when it launched.

    They don’t seem good at continual development.

    Aion was great for its pvp, you take that away you take away half its player base. No pvp no play

      To me his account history makes it look more like it was a shit poster throw away account and we lost no one important.

    I can understand the need to see if a studio is going to be able to keep old games going, but what they have yet to put out is in the air and you are only as good as your last review.
