I only watched the trailers of the game and some quick gameplay and read what you can do in the game to make up my mind.
I'm having fun, It's like playing Mass Effect in a fantasy setting.
If had listen to the same  youtubers that keeps popping up that basicly hate every new game that come out I would not have bought the game beacuse they had poisioned my mind with thier toxic content, I did the same with Outlaw and I enjoyed that game to.

    Same here.

Also, SkillUp is dumb as fuck. "Overwatch maps" Lol, what the fuck does that even mean. It's just a normal, linear well-made RPG with God of War 2018's combat. But what else should I have expected from the guy who said in Godfall's review that Warframe's linear levels were outdated content they moved away from in favor of open world zones. You know, the same open world zones that pretty much no one actually likes.

Well I am seeing this game is selling amazingly well and I am also seeing it is selling poorly, there are loads of refunds and no plans to make a dlc.

Who is telling the truth? It reminds me of SW Outlaws which was supposedly selling amazingly but then we found out it had not. My guess is that DA: Veilguard has done better than Outlaws with respect to the sales they were hoping for, but not stellar like they are trying to paint it.

Not that I would suggest or want anyone to finish the game that soon (I take ages to finish games myself), but when you do would be nice to hear your overall impressions on the game.

I have no idea currently of its profitability, if it is selling amazingly / decently / poorly but i do try and keep up with info on Bioware.

The studio Creative director / game director said they would not be doing DLC for Veilguard and that was a few months before launch.

The plan as they stated was to launch the game, fix issues, do the patching etc, then move the studio over fully to the new Mass Effect game development.

We know the Veilguard development cycle was very delayed, there were several changes in game management / developers between folks leaving the studio and layoffs, including many senior writing staff.

I almost get a Larian studios feeling, who also said no DLC because folks needed a fresh game to work on as they were sick of working on the current one.

I can't see all of that, Larian were not working with their own IP, are we saying Bioware is sick of Dragon Age? I know you are not but they could have done what I think they should have done, launch Veilguard as its own title, the lore I have seen is far more suitable to a new series.

It makes me concerned about ME actually what's the rush? I think VG gives the current team more credibility than Anthem did, which btw did have a stellar launch, 2M sold in first week. I don't think you can take sales to be indicative of how good a game is, so even if VG sales are poor or good it does not tell the whole story.

I'll wait for a sale for this one. The combat looks really good to me, but the rest of it looks pretty run of the mill. It doesn't look bad, just not extraordinary either. I don't see anything super compelling that I simply must play this game right now at full price. If sales are slow that just means it will go on sale faster. It's on my wishlist.

Sales are generally not a factor for me, I bought No Man’s Sky a few days after it came out when the negative firestorm was at its peak and have never regretted that decision, when a game captures my interest it does just that. For me Anthem was more of a meh title, I didn’t have the strong feelings towards it others did, I didn’t like or really dislike it but it certainly never grabbed me.

Yeah, i am not saying Bioware Edmonton is sick of their IP Dragon Age, but my take from the various interviews was they were sick of working on this specific title which was in development for a few months shy of a decade, when their single player titles are typically 2-5-year affairs.

During that decade working on this project, they had 4-6 different Game Producers / Studio Creative directors, veteran co-workers / peers leave Bioware for other companies as well as peers laid off.

I don’t like to link articles from elsewhere but there is a good, recent interview in RollingStone with the Creative Director for Bioware Edmonton John Epler (basically the acting studio head who decides game cycles and production), and he talks about what they learned from Anthem, specifically how their fans prefer non-multiplayer games from them and getting back into telling single player stories with less empty worlds. He is also the one who decided ultimately for no Veilguard DLC and to move into Mass Effect 5 full production.

I think you mentioned before that you don’t follow studios but rather games so forgive me if I am mentioning info, you already know. Bioware was 3 studios under the Bioware umbrella, Bioware Austin USA, Bioware Montreal, Canada and Bioware Edmonton, Canada the flagship location.

Bioware Montreal was the main developer of Mass Effect Andromeda and in part due to its less than stellar reception EA closed that Montreal studio and folded into one of their California ones. So, the Mass effect development is now back at Bioware Edmonton.

Also given the fact that it’s been almost 8 years since Andromeda was released, the fact the Mass Effect Legendary edition came out 3 years ago, selling well above what EA was expecting showing there is still interest in the franchise, and that Veilguard main production is finally launched, I think its not a matter of what’s the rush for ME:5 development but why would they delay any longer?

I don’t know if I will like Veilguard, like others I am unsure if I want to jump in now or wait for a sale and mods like I was planning. I am also not sure they can recapture the magic of early Bioware with ME:5 but over the last few decades they have crafted some of my favourite games, so I am rooting for them. :)

I played Veilguard for 56 hours now. First, Veilguard is among the 4% of games on my "computer games pile of shame" that I intend to finish. Second, there is a lot of Tomb Raider in this RPG. You jump, climb ladders and do puzzles to reach a treasure chest or the next battle. I like that. Last, the companion quests and companion talks are the best parts in the game. I estimate my play time will be 100 hours.

He's a shill, plain and simple. This game has finally proven the failure that it is, and this is a good thing. Even this site used "Return to form" in their lie of a review more than once. Let this game be another lesson to the devs out there.

I loved all three previous DA games. They were all great in their own way, not just as games, but as games within the DA universe.

I am about 40 hours into DAveilguard, and I have found it to be some nice mindless fun. However, it has been stripped of basically everything that I loved about DA games, and not only that, it also shits on the world/story/lore of the franchise. If it didn't have the DA name attached, I would give it a 6-7/10. As a DA game I give it a 1/10 - it has completely destroyed my love of the DA universe, a true abomination.

The intro to this video sums it up well:

I disagree though I don’t have the 100 hours he does.

Today I received a survey from EA and I gave the game a seven as well as going into detail about the things I liked and didn’t like.

    I don’t think he’s a “shill “ at all.

The game is a total fail and deserves the failgard monicker.  They sold like 1 mil copies by all reports when they need like 4 to 5 mill to break even...lol

Even the clowns at IGN are walking back its 9/10 review...lol

On steam Failgard has an all time peak of 89k players while farming simulator 25 has an all time peak of 126k....lmao

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

I can’t speak to IGN and their review so you will have to point the way. I see an ok review and discussion about the game but nothing that slams it.

There are people who love the simulation games and there is a lot of replayability.

Dragon Age Veilguard does not have great replay value as far as I can see. 89k is pretty close to the numbers I saw at launch so it’s not like it’s lost half their numbers.

It might be a financial failure but I still think it’s a solid 7.

This is what I am basing the idea of "it's a fail", on the numbers only and not the politics.

Also I am not talking about replayability but only about ALL TIME PEAK 89k vs 126k.

For a game that needs 4 to 5 mill to break even this is a fail.

I have heard but seen no evidence that insiders at Bioware/EA are saying sales were soft, this reminds me of SW Outlaws, the studio tells you it is selling amazingly well, then you find out later it performed below average for a AAA.

Like I said from the start there is little Dragon Age in game, everything I have seen since then has just confirmed that. But it does not seem a bad game, just doubtful it is what I am looking for.
