Bradford has eagerly awaited Avowed from Obsidian ever since it was first announced, and after a preview this week that had him go hands-on with the first two hours of the RPG, he's now eagerly awaiting its February launch date.

I also hate most first-person games. I don't like being unable to see my character (what's the point of customization and awesome loot if you can't see any of it?), and sometimes the perspective makes me physically ill.
Despite all of this, I'm looking forward to Avowed for some reason. I guess it just ticks so many of my other boxes that I'm hoping the big turn-offs won't bother me too much.
What does "crunchy" mean in RPG?
That said, I found myself exploring quite a bit, and the parkour elements were definitely thrown in there along the way - though it's less parkour in my experience and more just first person platforming. But puzzles and locations later in the game might have a bit more parkour-y elements to them beyond jumping from one ledge to another to get to a higher spot.
There was one where in order to get into a decrepit shack with a chest inside, I had to climb on a ridge above the building, jump down onto the roof and destroy it with my axe since the windows and door were both barred. So that's a bit of what a more complex parkour puzzle was like.
Also, the whole premise of Avowed(I really hate that name btw) reminds me heavily of Greedfall. The more you observe ...
I really like Eora(setting of Pillars etc), but idk honestly.
