I remember AC2 being, quest grind after quest grind after quest grind. I got to 43 & Quit. because of that, But Recently i've been having this itch to play AC2. So I log on to their website, I read that AC2 has been shut down :(. I was wondering if AC2 is like AC1?

I love my family

Alot of the lore is the same, but the games are very different.   There are no skill tree's in AC1, it is a completely skilled based game.    The engine is also much more dated so the graphics will not look remotely close to AC2's graphics.

But the community in AC1 is extremely dedicated similar to AC2 and the game has 6 years worth of monthly content plus 2 expansions available.

I maxed  one charactor out in AC2.  I loved the graphics.  AC1 TOD, does not have the great graphics, no refelection in the water, you don't cast a shadow.  You don't kick up dust on the trail.  The trees and grass dont sway.  No rolling waves at the beach.  There is plenty to do on the surface, or you can spend your time in dungeons.    Its a great game.  I wish Turbine would spend more time with it.  Make it so we can auto buff.  Have a ingame route/find.

I feel they spend a lot of time on it. The monthly updates are still going strong.

personally if you could play ac2 that long. Your goign to love ac1 and wonder what was wrong with the developers when they thought up ac2. Personally I really liked ac1 and ac2 was like a videogame version of ac1.

Which is very true.   AC2 was supposed to be released on Xbox but obviously with all the launch problems and other issues, M$ bailed on the game.

there is autobuffing.. there is a third party application for the game called, Decal. Using Decal, you can install El Tank or one of the other buffing plugins and then you can auto buff and auto rebuff... it makes the game a dream!!!

all i have to say is that i tried AC2 and it sucked the big one compared to AC1. I am planning on getting AC1 : TOD in the summer because it looks great because AC1 ruled!

As a gamer who started with AC2 and then went to AC1 after they pulled the plugg..you will find AC1 to be an ok game, nothin "Uber" and definately not AC2.

while those who played AC1 first, will like AC1 better.... those who played AC2 first will like that game better

I came from ac2 as well, and I just recently started playing ac1, while its not like ac2 in most aspects, there are familiar things like monsters and such.  It's an ok game to tide me over till they relaunch ac2 *crosses fingers*  However ac1 and 2 are unique games, its not likely you'll find another game quite like them

    AC2, I knew thee well....

I started with AC1 and moved to AC2 and found AC2 a more fun game to play. AC1 can get way too tedious at times with all the buffing and having to recharge jewelry. Plus AC2 wasn't infested or needed Buffbots and the death penalty wasn't bad at all (a good thing). I always hated having to run back to my corpse because of important dropped loot. Add the nice touch of musical instruments (everyone wanted the guitar). AC2 was my favorite fantasy MMO.

Don't get me wrong, AC1 isn't bad. Like I said it just go too tedious at times.
